Paris-based DJ & producer AIROD aka Dario Brkic returns to Amelie Lens’ Lenske for his second 12” on the Belgian label, ‘Rave Cycle’. Previous solo EPs on Molekul, on his Elixyr and the acclaimed ‘Voltage’ EP on Lenske earlier this year have brought him to play at some of the most emblematic clubs of the international circuit and become part of the Exhale showcases. Following a new round of bombastic releases by the Lenske crew: Farrago, Milo Spykers and Lens herself, it’s now the turn for the Elixyr Records boss to bring the heat. 

As expected from AIROD, this new record sounds like it could have been released in 1994. He uses references from rave, acid and gabber together with his fresh approach, the result are 4 club-ready cuts to hit massive sound systems. Masters Slam return to Soma in overwhelmingly top form with their latest release, the Inversion EP. After the release and finalisation of their Archive Edits project at the tail end of 2019, the dynamic Glaswegian duo set about working on new, original material, culminating in this expertly produced 4 track EP in which the pair really work through their peak time Techno material. 

Title track Inversion has them with the foot firmly on the gas as relentless percussion drives atop a warping and tripped out synth hook. Primitive Shift edges more on an acid tip as a jacked up 909 beat thunders behind a pulsating 303 sound. Container continues the jacked up feeling with the pair really working up the distortion on the 909 beats, this time increasing the overall pace of the track with a turbo charged, rave powered sequence. Closing out the EP, Zero Dip doesn’t have the duo letting up on intensity as a more industrial vibe is prevalent throughout, created by searing drones and tough atmospherics moving across pounding drums.

LEKKE is a 19 year old Belgian producer/DJ based in Leuven. 

A couple of years ago he found some old cassettes from his dad filled with 80s new beat. The raw, dark electronic sounds inspired him to create his own music. After a journey through multiple genres he lost his heart to techno. 

Last year, LEKKE went to Liverpool to further develop his skills as a producer and musician. Now that he has returned to Belgium, his focus lies on the creative process of making tracks and putting sets together. 

After the successful release of his first EP ‘P*NK’, he has released on sets and tracks on various labels such as Sindex and Pure Hate 000.
