Oh my God. Lost and found. From the old days of record playing. My live special for the Jazzanova Radio in March 2005, 20 years ago. Back then I was very influenced by my work for the Kaleidoskop parties at Cafe Moskau and my monthly DJing at the Icon Club for ‘Solid Steel - Ninjatune’! Benjamin Dauer - Missing You [disquiet0055-twoscrews]

My inspiration for this remix comes from an episode of Fringe where special equipment was used to listen to audio from the past - ghosts of sounds that once existed in time. I imagined Nils rehearsing certain passages of his songs before finally committing them to a recording. In this exploration, I wanted to give the impression that you are hearing these ghosts of notes past, fleeting in an out, tumbling over each other as they come into focus.

Our assignment was to take two of the source tracks — “Do” and “Re” — and create a new track from them, in the process creating a work for two pianos. In the end, I kept the key of "Do" for the final piece.
