The Mind

Man how long have I waited on this one? The concept for this cast started out months ago, in fact the same day that I purchased tickets to without a doubt the biggest event I will be attending this year; Above & Beyond's Group Therapy #250. Even though my cast is great and everything, (yeah yeah harmonic mixing, thoughtful planning, 12th grade writing level) there is almost no way to compare the level of influence at the Group Therapy cast has on the daily lives of thousands of EDM fans world wide.

My complicated relationship with Above & Beyond began years ago with a little record by a small group called OceanLab, pulled out of a promo bin at some now long defunct record store on cap hill in 2001. I still have that white label sitting and gathering dust now that the digital age has finally kicked in, but who knew that the members of Ocean Lab were going to carry the torch for Progressive, Deep House and Trance in to the next decade. 

This months cast is all Anjuna, every single track (hello lawyers) and covers everything they do..from the big EDM floor fillers to the thoughtful deeper caverns of Cubicolor. Anjuna we love you, and we know you feel the same way!

ACAB PODCAST #32 - Anjuna Love Letter ABGT 250!!!

Seasons change and yet ADE remains the same. The flood of new tracks from the entire international community is dropping faster than the summer leaves. Bonzai, Glasgow Underground, Anjuna, Toolroom you name it; absolutely everyone is bringing something to the table. 

The best part of ADE for me is knowing that the releases that span before and after the event tend to take greater risks than normal. Drum delays that expand percussion loops to the peripheral, ghostly bass stabs and the trendy  resurgence of vintage synthesizer are the mark of 2017.
