Starting with a subtle, upbeat groove and ending with an explosive, somewhat overwrought breakdown, Confluence's "Outside" is the most emotionally conflicted single of Summer 2016. 

Just like the song's contrasting sounds and dynamics, the lyrics of frontman Ian Gassman are equally discordant. Mostly because they were inspired by the indecisiveness that can befall any twentysomething when it comes to dealing with life. 

"I should be outside walking around," he sings with fervor, hinting that he's got to get away from whatever is holding him back. Whether it be a relationship, a job or his own fear, one essential question remains: Should I stay or should I go now? 

This previously unreleased track was recorded live at Mammoth Cave Studios in 2014. It's one of the lead singles off Confluence's upcoming anthology album, "Hindsight," which features the band's entire catalog from the past three years.

Better for It

The recent passing of Leonard Cohen has affected us deeply, as he has long been a force of musical and poetic inspiration.  He was an exquisite storyteller with words for everything.  He could turn a dazzling phrase with seemingly little effort in that beautiful voice all his own.  This is our simple but loving tribute to an amazing artist who will live on in our hearts forever.
