Matter

Ghosts of Home is a band formed in 2013 by longtime friends Darren Kosinski (vocals/guitar) and Matthew Woods (vocals/bass). Backed by Luciano Nascimento (Drums/Percussion), the New Jersey natives set to connect members of society through their use of positively-influenced music. As experienced writers—Kosinski and Woods having written with one another for over a decade, and Nascimento drumming since he was four—they have established their niche with their soon-to-come first EP, “Picking Locks.”

       Taking cues from hardcore punk royalties such as Rise Against, and mixing in emotionally-driven commodities such as Dream Theater and Angels and Airwaves, the aptly named three-piece wants to take a stand against the “ghosts,” or issues, plaguing society today. Kosinski’s and Woods’ shared vocals helps establish the haunting and morose feeling one may feel while being entrapped within set limitations, while Nascimento’s strong and persistent drumming tries to beat the ghosts right out of their skin. Ghosts’ highly metaphorical lyrics also serve two purposes: to inform the listeners of the sometimes harsh reality one is facing today, and to empower those same people to stand up for themselves and find their own way.

       In starting the band, Darren, Luciano, and Matt, also hope to reach out and help their peers any way they can, including supporting and advocating charitable causes. Their music is hoped to inspire others to do the same thing, ultimately bringing people together to improve the quality of society.
