Bit of a passion project for me. Samples “Pachuca Sunrise” by Minus the Bear. It also has a melody from “Burying Luck” also by Minus the Bear. Wanted to do something with both of these songs for ages.

Still far from finished but it’s substantially further along that it used to be. I’d say it’s about 50%. Still getting my feet wet with music again.

I’m also bring back my old SoundCloud since you can’t really post audio on Twitter. And I always wanted to use “Ghost Shapes” as my music project.

At This Moment, None Of It Seems Real (Pachuca Sunrise) V3

Not mastered or anything but probably the closest to a finished song that I've made so far. Tho it doesn't have a name yet! Challenged myself focus on drums for this song, pretty happy with the fills and I've had this grove stuck in my head for a few years.

Project 8 - 5

Probably the most Starship Amazing-like track I've made yet. It's not something I was trying to do, but I can't really help it since that was the last time I made music so I haven't had much time to grow past it.

I have a bad habit of getting in my head and over thinking everything so I made this one really quickly, trying to just let it fall out of my head.

Not mixed or mastered at all. No name. Just still just getting started.

Project 11

Gave Project 11 a proper name and a proper mix. Did some EQ'ing, a lot of panning, and other touches. Added some stuff but skeletally it's the same song. I hope that pulsing synth tone isn't too corny because I think it sounds really good. No master on it but my first attempt to push a song closer to being "finished". I still feel like I'm in the "warm up phase" of getting back into music production. 

Not 100% on that title, but it'll do for now. I like my upbeat, happy songs to have tinge of melancholy in the melody and I think the title fits that. It's from the contrast between joy and sadness that joy feels more real, or that's how I've always approached it.

I think I'm going to keep challenging myself to make songs as quick and punchy as possible. I toyed with extra melodies and a longer intro but I think just under 2 minutes feels right. Old Starship Amazing tracks were always too damn long, I'm really proud of that body of work but so much of it could've been trimmed way down and it probably would've been more impactful. Maybe if I ever get to the point where I have a live act, I can make them longer. But that's a long ways away.

Someone Out There Is Afraid To Lose You (Project 11-2)

I'm still just messing around, I don't I have any "finished" songs yet. But this one is far enough along that I feel comfortable sharing. 

I tend to get really distracted with tiny details, playing with every switch and nob. This is one song where I was able to do that but stay productive. Took awhile to get the reverb on the main melody to be on rhythm just right. It's actually two separate tones at different rhythmic reverbs on each channel. Also spent a lot of time tweaking the arpeggio midway through, my first time really doing that. The melodies took only a few minutes to write, I've spent most of my time trying to find interesting sounds.

It's not very high energy, but I like making big emotional songs too. I've been challenging myself to make shorter songs but I feel like this could become a much longer track. It kinda moves into a second part at the end and I'm not sure if I want to keep going with that or keep riffing on the main reverb'd melody.
