What was initially inspired by her aversion to the lack of content in other MC’s lyrics, the 'Giggle' EP ended up becoming a project that helped Gi to realize that the only person she should be laughing at is herself. This 4 track EP represents the external influences in Gi Major’s life that unconsciously caused her inner turmoil while trying to progress as an artist. In an industry that seems to place less emphasis on lyricism and more importance on image, Gi spent her time “giggling” at other artists’ work, only to find her own progress at a standstill. The “Giggle EP” represents Gi’s insecurities as an alternative hip-hop artist, as well as her personal journey to gaining confidence in the fact that authenticity can never lose relevance.

I feel like each track is a journey in itself quickly taking you through being at (what seems like) the lowest point in my life, to anger, to spending sleepless nights, working on music and sounds to finally realising that it all serves a purpose.”

As a self-proclaimed cross-genre MC with a UK grime influence, Gi Major is not one to be confined by industry labels. Dynamic in style, Gi’s work is palatable to both mainstream hip-hop circuits and the rapidly growing underground grime & bass scene. 

Kicking off 2020 with her third international appearance, Gi has truly laid her footprint as a forward-thinking MC with a global impact. She has been featured on some of London’s premier radio stations (Kiss FM, Rinse FM, Flex FM, Westside, and Pyro Radio) as well as Europe’s largest bass music and soundsystem culture festival, Outlook. Her ability to execute on stage has garnered her the support of bass and grime pioneers, EL-B, Flowdan, Rudekid, Marcus Nasty, as well as Boy Better Know’s, JME and Jammer. 

Gi’s 2019 “Open Up” EP caught the eyes and ears of famed music publication, EARMILK, who described the project as one that “Pushes the Envelope.” Her music videos, “Gameplan” and “Anyway” were also premiered by popular hip-hop music network, The Cypher Effect, gaining backing from hip-hop and grime audiences worldwide. Gi’s most recent release, the “ICY” EP came equipped with three music videos, one of which was shot in the UK, featuring South London MC, Jon E Clayface.  Building bridges from NYC to London, Gi is a driving force in her local community and beyond.
