This EP traces the deeply human, internal process of becoming and being an artist: the initial confusion, the fire that awakens within, the weight of darkness, and finally, the clarity that emerges. Each track represents a stage in this emotional arc — a personal confession, a moment of truth, a declaration that art is the only language that makes sense.

Set Waking Life 2018 (part 1)

Born in Venice, Giacomo Brocca began his musical journey as a DJ in the city’s club scene. He later began private lessons in piano and guitar, which sparked his passion for composition. He pursued formal studies in Electronic Music and Composition at the Conservatorio Cesare Pollini in Padua, where he graduated with honors. During this time, he also worked as an audio engineer, collaborating with contemporary composers, theater directors, and the Padua Symphonic Orchestra. These experiences sparked his love for orchestral music and inspired his transition into scoring for media.

To deepen his skills, Giacomo completed a post-graduate program in Media Composition, blending his electronic background with cinematic orchestral scoring. Now based in Berlin, he composes for film, advertising, and digital media.

The short film Sugar, for which he composed the score, was nominated at the Achtung Berlin Film Festival and RIFFA in Canada. Most recently, he composed the music for the new commercial of the Deutschlandmuseum in Berlin.

Giacomo's debut electronic EP How to Artist is out now and is part of the multidisciplinary exhibition How to artist?, created in Berlin alongside Chloé Guisan and Laura Abbondandolo. The project blends illustration, fashion, and music into an emotional and sensory journey into the heart of the artistic process.

Giacomo composes music that enhances the narrative while continually refining a personal style shaped by both orchestral tradition and contemporary sound design
