For this month video I took an old Rhodes #improvisation and I quickly tried to give some more color to it adding more keys stuff. The result should be an atmospheric track which can help you thinking of the past or the future, leaving the present for a moment. 

In this period I am really into this kind of ambient or atmospheric music and I am taking advantage of this to experiment with some keys stuff I started using. You can use this brano also to understand if you or don't like #Scarbee Ep 88s or Noire from #NativeInstruments. Just in case you would like to hear more about these VSTs let me know! I will gladly do some more demonstrations of them.

I love to take inspiration from images when it comes to create music. I strongly believe that blending arts is the highest form of art. It strengthens emotions, helping us refinding our easy-to-lost sensibility.

Purple Candlelight

This is a short track from some time ago that I just found again and thought of uploading here as I am really into this type of experiments currently.

As soon as I heard Mario Talocco's drum experiment with delay, I felt inspired to add my delayed piano too (along with some cool "particles" effects thanks to Noire, by Native Instruments)

Experimental piano and drums beat / playing with delay (Noire, Scarbee, Komplete Kontrol M32)

Well, this cover is a sort of stripped down version of another work called Interstellish (that is a mash-up bewtween Interstellar main theme and this Billie Eilish' song, as the name should suggest - I hope it works ahah-). In fact you should be able to hear the piano on the verses playing Hans Zimmers' famous theme. 

I realized both of these works together with some "musical fellows". If you end up being interested don't worry! You can find the videos on TY at Tiny Room Harmonies!
The reason why we did these is because we really love blending arts together and this was a great great opportunity to mix our passion for cinema, music and video-making.

In fact, the animated video of the acoustic version (of which you see a frame here used as cover for the upload)is by Denise Capasso. The wonderful voice comes from Silvia Alfonzetti instead.

This is just me uploading one of those deep conversation you have with yourself sometimes. Floating in your thoughts can be as helpful as dangerous if you lose the balance. That's why everyone usually has his own method and instrument to lead these conversations and let thoughts unravel. 

So today I felt the urge to sit at the piano an play, and that's the dialogue I've had. Just a raw draft, an improvisation on a structure I imagined while playing.

The Thinker

I felt like this #piano composition (originally created for my remake of the plastic bag scene from American Beauty) deserved to be published also as "standalone" track for everyone to listen to it without dialogue on it.


The entire track has been realized with one VST, is to say, Noire by @NativeInstruments. Everything you hear comes from a grand piano. In fact, the great thing about this plugin is that they have worked to extrapolate usable sounds from one real instrument, deriving lots of incredible effects and other instruments from sampling and sound design. I've just made a hopefully great use of them.

Leap of Faith

This short track tries to tell you what I feel and imagine looking at "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper.

The scene is seen from the perspective of a person who is coming back home, passing exactly by that corner, where the wind blows hard.

Passing By The Corner Of That Street - Instrumental Atmospheric Track inspired by a Painting

I tried to create a sort of atmosphere/soundscape with the Zoom ms70cdr, using "Everything I Wanted" as the main theme. I liked the idea of moving the intro of the song to the end, as a symbolic act.
Hope you appreciate this little interpretation of the song. It is far from perfect, and it uses a different -kind of stripped down- structure of the original piece, meaning it does not repeat anything and goes straight to...the beginning! In addition, it ends with a  major chord, to give a sense of Hope. I feel like this word has reached a new level of intensity in these days, for many of us. 

Hope this finds you well, whoever you are! But more than anything else, I hope that the end of this quarantine will be a great new beginning and that everything we have learned from this period won't disappear once we will be back to our "previuos" life.

Happy to share this little experiment made with Mario Talocco, a person that I find really a source of motivation. We worked on this during quarantine, everything started from a drums draft and it has been amazing to see how things started coming to life, color after color!
