In his new song ‘Chocolat’, Belgican (Belgian / African) rapper Badi pays tribute to the power and beauty of black bodies. Between sensuality and spice, fantasy and fear, hanging from lips or trees, chocolate remains a forbidden fruit.

“Forbidden fruits hanging from trees,

Nigerian singer J.O.J. brings a suave and modern touch to this collaboration and the impeccable production sound of Boddhi Satva pushes Badi to reveal his playful side.

‘Chocolat’ is taken from Badi’s new album ‘Trouble Fête‘, out now on BBE Music.

In the official video for ‘Chocolat’, Badi shares the screen with model Raissa Niyonsarai. The clip is directed by Mister Marabout and shot at Café Congo, Studio City Gate and Fabian Sanguinetti photo studio. Thanks to Tembo Prod (prod assistant), Wenzoki (make-up) and Rafael (Volvo).

MF Robots unleash the third salvo from upcoming BBE Music album ‘Break The Wall’, a feelgood mid-tempo funk bubbler entitled ‘Good People’.

Underpinned by Jan’s unmistakable rock-solid rhythm section and topped off with Dawn’s life-affirming lyrics, ‘Good People’ delivers yet another tough groove, brought to life by some of the UK’s tightest musicians.

Following up their latest single ‘Good People’ on BBE Music, MF Robots unveil an extended version of the track accompanied by an up-tempo remix by MontaQue Adamson and a brand new ‘Bossy Nova’ version of ‘Mother Funkin’ Robots’ by Jan Kincaid.

Emerging London production duo MontaQue Adamson have both played with MF Robots since their first gig at The Bussey Building and helped write the band’s upcoming album ‘Break The Wall’. Both Alex Montaque (keys) and Naz Adamson (bass) have been staples in the UK music scene for the past 15 years, working with world-renowned artists both on stage and in the studio. Their remix of ‘Good People’ takes the laid back original and sends it into overdrive, with a funky-house interpretation.

Making the most of Dawn Joseph’s powerhouse vocal, Jan Kincaid’s ‘Bossy Nova Refit’ of previous single ‘Mother Funkin’ Robots’ injects an enticing Latin vibe into the cut, with a delightfully old-school synth line providing some light hearted interplay with that superb brass section. Says Jan: “it was a challenge to remix this tune and give it a different personality. I wanted it to be a fun late night, the last few dancers left in the place type of thing.”
An extended of ‘Good People’ is also included in the package, alongside instrumental versions of all three tracks.

About MF Robots:
Collaborating for the first time while recording and performing with one of the UK’s most commercially successful Acid Jazz bands The Brand New Heavies in 2013, founder / drummer Jan Kincaid and vocalist Dawn Joseph discovered immediate musical chemistry and began writing songs together right away. They soon left the band to concentrate on their own work, starting MF Robots (Music For Robots) and releasing an eponymous debut in 2018. The duo quickly morphed into a band as they found themselves in-demand at venues and festivals all over Europe, and haven’t looked back since.

Released on BBE Music’s new sister label Batakari, ‘90’s’ is the first single taken from Portuguese rapper Tekilla’s upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Olhos de Vidro’.

Produced by Fred Ferreira (Orelha Negra, Buraka Som Sistema, Banda do Mar), ‘90’s’ sees Tekilla reminisce about the decade in which hip-hop began to make noise in Portugal. As part of the first wave of MCs in the country, Tekilla was highly instrumental in building the scene, both as a solo artist and as part of super-group MadVision.

“I embarked on a journey, looking for the essence of the hip-hop that I grew up listening to, with nostalgic, aggressive, raw beats, stripping away the music of prejudices and manias, creating my own vision of the 90’s in 2021! In this track I pay tribute to all those who I grew with in this movement, to those who sowed their seeds before me, and even today keep doing it. For those who raise the bar at their art, keep pushing the boundaries, and provide the right music and the right messages for those who care. It is also my cry against all those who, over the years, have not yet realised that Art is not a 100m race, but a marathon. It is our legacy. It is what will remain. Peter Kruder & Richard Dorfmeister’s groundbreaking ‘K&D Sessions’ compilation from 1998 gets an overdue reissue on !K7 Records and is made available digitally for the first time ever

Originally released on Studio !K7 Records in 1998, Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister's groundbreaking release, 'The K&D Sessions' reset the bar for what could be achieved in a compilation.  Across an array of original tracks, dubs and infamous ‘K&D Session’ remixes, the DJ and producer duo took the listener on a smoke-filled blunted journey that flowed flawlessly.  Often compared to DJ Shadow's 'Endtroducing' for it's similarly deft craft of rhythm and quoted by Allmusic as "the most blissfully blunted music the world has ever heard", the album has sold over 1,000,000 copies to date and was included in Spin’s ‘Top 20 albums of 1999’.

The album has long since been deleted on Vinyl with original 4LP sets changing hands for €300+ on the collectors market and even a bootleg vinyl copy will set a buyer back over €100.  More big news comes in the fact that the album has never been officially available digitally or to stream and !K7 have spent a number of painstaking years hunting down original rights holders and clearing the licenses in order to do so.  Sixteen years later, this legendary album will be available as a long overdue mastered for iTunes digital edition on 17 November 2014. Following in early 2015 will be a 5LP reissue remastered by Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood plus 2CD editions along with audiophile high quality lossless digital format.  All new versions of the album feature 3 tracks not available on the original issue.
