We’re delighted to welcome British-Bahraini trumpeter and flugelhorn player Yazz Ahmed to the Night Time Stories family. And, to mark the occasion, we’re releasing her entire back catalogue on vinyl.

First up - and available for the first time on vinyl - we have 2011’s "Finding My Way Home”. It’s Yazz Ahmed’s debut album, and it blends original compositions and improvisations, reflecting Yazz's Arabic heritage and classic jazz influences from the 1950s and 60s. 

Next up in our series of special Yazz Ahmed vinyl reissues, we have 2017’s "La Saboteuse". A revolutionary record, the album blends music from her dual heritage with electronic effects to redefine the genre. Finally available again on vinyl, the record delves into her British and Bahraini roots, featuring musicians including Samuel Hällkvist and Shabaka Hutchings, and is characterised by the flavour of its Middle Eastern melodies and evocative rhythms. 

Finally, we have Yazz Ahmed's acclaimed album ‘Polyhymnia’, which celebrates female courage, determination, and creativity. This album contrasts her previous work, "La Saboteuse," which was driven by her inner-destroyer or anti-muse.

A Brief Utopia (A project by Jinjé) A Brief Utopia was born from an EP released earlier this year by Jinjé (aka, Lee J Malcolm from Vessels) on Scene Unseen. Stepping away from his usual production duties and focusing more on his passion for live drumming and percussion instruments. This was the starting block for much of the composition on the this record. He quickly realised that this would be a brilliant thing to do live and reached out to fellow musicians Danny Templeman (Submotion Orchestra, Gentleman’s DubClub) and Nathan Moseley (Fwar, Brolin) to put together a high energy show aimed at clubs and festivals alike.A Brief Utopia brings a colourful, vibrant and visually engaging experience. Drawing on a love of music from around the world focused through a lens of live drumming, tuned percussion and psychedelic synth work.

Enigmatic Stockholm producers Pallers turn the light on for a remix of "Keep Him," the lead single from The Legends' newest album It's Love. 

"Keep Him" is the lead single from It’s Love, The Legends' fifth studio album. The record details a recent chapter in the life of Johan Angergård which saw him wrestle with issues of loss, love and identity. At the same time, a new relationship came crashing into his world, bringing with it both infatuation and anxiety.

With his internal life shifting, an abrupt creative streak spurred It’s Love in a matter of months. Not surprisingly, acceptance soon followed, and although no firm answers have yet revealed themselves, Johan’s struggle stopped, to which he says, “I don’t know if this all sounds a bit pessimistic. It shouldn’t. It’s a new start. There’s a lot of hope. There’s love.”

Off the back of his recent debut album announcement, French-Canadian producer and live act Christophe Dubé, aka CRi, shares a brand new taster of his forthcoming LP ‘Juvenile’, ‘From Me’; featuring vocals from Canadian artist Bernache (the indie/lo-fi solo project from Men I Trust singer Emma Proulx).

Following in the footsteps of fellow Montréalers Jacques Greene and Kaytranada, CRi has risen through the city’s bubbling scene in recent years, and is now set to release his eagerly anticipated 11-track debut on 16th October via Anjunadeep.

A self-taught college dropout, CRi caught the attention of tastemaker press with early single ‘Rush’ and his ‘Someone Else’ EP. ‘Rush’, accompanied by an award-nominated music video, and ‘Someone Else’ picked up a nomination for Electronic Release of The Year at the 2018 Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent to The Grammy’s).

CRi’s sound blurs light, dream-like melodies with textured production - capturing the energy of the dancefloor, and the nostalgia of the morning after. Christophe draws inspiration from his musical heroes Moby, St Germain and Daniel Bélanger (who appears on the album), along with more contemporary influences ranging from Caribou and Dark Sky to Jacques Greene and Actress.

Having debuted on Anjunadeep in 2019 he quickly caught the ear of BBC Radio 1's Pete Tong and Annie Mac with his ‘Initial EP’, which was also championed on KCRW by Jason Bentley. 

Throughout the album CRi collaborates with a number of his French-Canadian contemporaries, including Sophia Bel and Bernache, and Québécois legend Daniel Bélanger. A star of the French-Canadian music scene and three-time Juno award winner, Daniel Bélanger lends his distinctive Francophone vocals to ‘Signal’, the album’s third single.

A talented live performer, CRi plays solo and as a three-piece band with collaborators Jesse Mac Cormack and Sophia Bel. A hot ticket in his hometown, he has already headlined Piknic Electronik and played to thousands at Osheaga. With touring plans on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic, CRi will present a series of livestreams throughout the summer.

The album marks another milestone for UK label Anjunadeep. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the label is now approaching 500 releases, and is known for unearthing the likes of Dusky, Lane 8, Yotto and Cubicolor. With hundreds of millions of streams in recent years, and sold-out label festivals around the world, Anjunadeep continues to cement its place as one of electronic music’s leading labels, with CRi at the forefront.
