B4B Guest Mix 002: INDIGO KIDDA - BIG IN DA JUNGLE

We have finally reached the end of 2024 I just want to Thank everyone for the support over the last year with all the FOCUS mixes, Last month We dropped a mix from Dezignate which kicked off series 5, this month Tina Odgers is in the spotlight and has submitted a lovely Jungle mix to see out 2024.

Tina made her own little bio which I love and don't want to change anything from it, it shows who she is and her passion for music.

My first introduction to electronic dance music was from tunes in the charts and some random rave mix tapes given to me in the late 80s and early 90s. I've always had big love towards House and Drum & Bass, often opting for a good bassline and uplifting melodies. 

I started DJing in the late 90s - my interest started at a house party when I had a go on some decks and kept fluking good mixes - so decided to buy some cheap belt drives for myself. I bought records in different genres to learn different styles - House, D&B, Garage, Trance, Hard House. Even had a scratch record! Later I performed at an open deck night and the boys used to slip me £20 every week to keep me coming back to play Hard House and Trance. I ended up playing at Bridges, Broadwalk and Pickled Johns with that crew. I stopped this because of money and motherhood and concentrated on a career instead. 

Fast forward to Christmas 2022 where I bought an Audia Technica direct drive to go with a lonely 1210 and performed a few live streams to reminisce with some old vinyl. People seemed interested to hear me play again so I invested in a digital controller February 2023, and slowly geared up collecting some digital tunes, and started playing out in public again summer 2023. I regularly play for MidLife Krisis now - field parties, The Veeg Shack, The Barge and Levels Nightclub so far, and have dipped into D&B@T&B and Total D&B - all of which has massively helped to develop my confidence again. 

My motivation and enjoyment comes from sharing tunes with a crowd and seeing the appreciation and dancing feet. I love this about music and the effect it has on your mood. Finding tunes that make you feel happy, motivated, alive. The escapism. That's the beauty of, and the reason I enjoy DJing - stepping up and sharing that love of music with like minded people.
