If life is about "being in the right place at the right time," then Diz's timing could not have been better. Born and raised in Chicago, the original epicenter of the House Music uni-verse, his adolescence coincided with the beginnings of that city's legendary scene. Nowadays, if you mention Diz's name amongst House aficionados, you are almost cer-tain to hear adoration and respect for his insane
DJ skills, stage presence, and warm-hearted personality.
Diz's musical influences started at home, where his mother's love for Jazz led him to pursue the saxophone for many years. His DJ beginnings were about whatever he could get his hands on, like Disco and old Breaks records inherited from family members. When he was 14, his older brother took him to The Music Box, where Diz witnessed the true potential of House Music: to affect people's emotions and bring them together on a collective journey. He's been striving to do just that ever since, and in the process, has become a faithful participant in the music, the culture, and the times. Throughout high school, he frequented parties featuring DJs such as Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Farley and many other masters, and finally had a chance to break into the scene at age 19 after meeting contemporaries Mark Farina, Derrick Carter and Spencer Kincey (Gemini). His early gigs were at Alcazar with Gemini, and at one-off parties. At his Wicker Park loft, what started as a means of paying
the rent developed into a two-year run as a nightclub, featuring Diz, Farina and Mark Grant on the decks. Soon after-wards, he and his friends took over Shelter, one of the city's "most severe night spots." >From roughly 1993-98, Diz was the Friday resident at Shelter, and the Saturday resi-dent at Red Dog alongside
Johnny Fiasco, and since then has held many residencies at other legendary Chicago spots.
In 1995, Diz accepted a job working for his brother's friend, Anthony Pearson (Chez Damier), at PRESCRIPTION (the label founded by Chez and Ron Trent).
PRESCRIP-TION conducted distribution business with CAJUAL, and that is how Diz met his future producing partner and close friend, Joshua (whose nickname as fate would have it, was "Iz").
In 1995, Iz n Diz produced their first record together, "Ghosts in Detroit," released on PRESCRIPTION's sub-label, BALANCE. A year later, Joshua/Iz moved back to San Francisco, but he and Diz maintained a close friendship over the years and continue to produce together for labels like CLASSIC, AESOTERIC, GUIDANCE,
TWEEKIN', SIL-VER NETWORK, and PANHANDLE.
Diz is currently on a touring tear taking him one of the planet to the other while some-how finding time to finish up an album with mate Iz, coming soon!

This DJ/production duo consists of Nick Garcia and Oscar of Funky Farm, and this 2x4 set was recorded live at Camp Weird a few weeks back in Northern California. 

Funky Farm has a couple of new releases, Omar Aragon's "Jennie's Church" featuring remixes by Rare Static and Mikey V, and a new one by Lurob called "A Day In The Life" that comes out on July 28th.

Chicago-born Juan Lopez grew up in the predominately Hispanic Pilsen neighborhood where he was influenced by music at an early age. Soon after his high school years, he traded playing guitar in rock and funk bands for home studio technology that allowed him the freedom to produce his own music without the confines and frustrations that playing in a band presented. Around this time Johnny began his career as a DJ at some of the first underground "house" parties in Chicago, and in '88 he landed a residency at Smart Bar with Mark Farina. Three years later he turned a potentially devastating incident into a source of motivation to focus on his career as a producer and began to record for Moonshine, Radikal Fear and the world-renowned Cajual Records. He has produced a number of Billboard hits, remixed the likes of Justin Timberlake, Gloria Estefan, KD Lang and Donna Blakely (just to name a few), and has released records on just about every house label worth listening to. His outstanding musical accomplishments have attracted worldwide attention to this humble artist, and his ongoing musical endeavors continue to play a major role in defining the past, present and future of house music.

GLA Recordings Artist Sessions 003 - JT Donaldson Live At The Secret Garden Austin TX

Gavin began his involvement with music DJing around Nottingham as part of Giddy Fruit,  a group of like minded friends who were frequenting the deep house nights of the town in the early 90's. Inspired by the sounds of local heroes DiY and Go Tropo the Giddy crew would commandeer their own and friends' houses , cover them in decor and fill them with speakers and invite a club full of strangers to enjoy their first forays into public performance.

Over the years the Giddy Fruit sound could be found in clubs, at their own "Giddy Up" nights or guesting for fellow house heads such as Quadrant and Smokescreen. Towards the end of the 90s Gavin began to get interested in "the studio" , where all these great tunes derived. Invited along by friends Steve Walker and Jay Cowley, of house outfit To-Ka Project, Gavin contributed to two tracks on the 1999 To-Ka EP on Viva "Don't Cry", his first vinyl release.

By now Gavin had been a regular at parties thrown by Smokescreen, originally a rig from Sheffield that had relocated to Nottingham. The Giddy crew, especially Gav, Al and Lucy, would always bring their tunes down and eventually pester their way onto the decks. It was here that Gav first met Steve Lee, who had been playing for Smokescreen since his early teens and was himself starting to make his first attempts at making music. Gav and Steve found they shared a drive to make music and Gav began trekking down to the Rubber Biscuit studio with Steve to see what they could do.

Meanwhile several of Gav's co-compositions with Jay from To-Ka had found their way onto releases on his side project, Lo-Motion. Together they put out well received tracks on Tilted, Myna, DiY and Drop Music before Jay withdrew from the music scene.

Gav and Steve had by now gelled and, calling themselves The Littlemen, had their first major relase with the "Tall Order EP" on Drop Music in 2001. They then went on a run of around 20 EPs in the next 7 years, including highly respected labels such as Amenti, Lowdown, Tango, Nightshift and Aroma. Steve also founded a label, Mobile Trax, which put out a string of excellent releases between 2003-2006.

By 2008 Gavin was also making solo material and put out his debut tracks on Guess Who? and Guesthouse. He has since then put out several releases on Mobile Trax as well as EP's and remixes for labels such as Aroma, Myna, and Odour.

In 2015 Gavin relocated with his family to New Zealand where he has been putting on events under the monicker "Love Bug" as well as releasing music on local label HuHu.

2018 sees Gavin putting out a two-part release on Replay Recordings, the UK label run by his old party associates Kinky Movement as well as continuing  to push quality house onwards with Love Bug and FFWD nights in Auckland and Whangarei.
