Gift Tapes/DRAFT is a label run by Jason E Anderson. In 2008, Gift Tapes began releasing music recorded to tape, released on audio cassettes. The label expanded its focus in 2010 forming the DRAFT imprint to release digitally recorded and/or generated work.

Jason E Anderson is creates music and sound art. He performs and records music under his own name and as LIMITS with dancer Corrie Befort. His work includes performance, recordings, film/video, installation, music for dance, producing and publishing. In 2018, he left Seattle to live among the Palouse farmlands just outside of Pullman WA. Anderson began to make his work public in 2001, performing in Seattle’s free improv/experimental music circles and creating music for contemporary dance. In 2008, he co-founded improv synth duo Brother Raven with Jamie Potter, leading to his active involvement in the synth music scene running experimental music label Gift Tapes/DRAFT. In performance, Anderson employs systems that generate sound and patterns. His frequent use of voice/text pairs abstract sound with extra-musical information to engage with concepts and context within the auditory realm. His work employs a heavy use of modular synthesizers, late 80s/early 90s era rack synths, and computer(s) running SuperCollider.
