8Kays delivers an inspiring label debut on Watergate Records, as the artistic project of Ukrainian sound-producer and live act Iryna Shvydka reinforces why there’s so much excitement surrounding her with the slick ‘Falling Down’ EP.
 
A collaborative rich EP, 8Kays links with Italian pair Glowal for the punchy ‘Matemática’, that brings plenty of eerie minor key vibes to the dancefloor thanks to the vocal contribution from Brasilian singer Abrão. ‘Falling Down’ sees 8Kays team up with the Buenos Aires-based producer and live act Juan Hansen for a captivating slice of electronic prog lit up by Hansen’s memorable vox and delicate strings. One for those special end-of-night moments. 
 
Dutch pair Colyn & Beswerda suit up ‘Falling Down’ for a different occasion, adding a tougher backbone, while teasing out all the melodic flourishes to craft a remix that’s functional and stunning in equal doses. Man-of-the moment Chris Avantgarde then ramps up the intensity to eleven adding his own re-rub that’s everything we’ve come to love about the producer: bold, powerful and memorable. 
 
The EP ends with a terrific 8Kays solo cut, the luminescent ‘Lyra’, a dreamy arpeggio-driven gem that closes out the work beautifully.

8Kays & Juan Hansen - Falling Down

We continue with the fifth edition of our Collage Series. The Ukrainian duo Off Night has delivered a true dancefloor sensation with "Face Melt," a powerful and driving track featuring a 303-inspired main sound and a chopped vocal sample with trippy effects. Neumateria, also a talented Ukrainian artist, offers "Leo," a soulful and melancholic summer track perfect for the upcoming festival and open-air season. "Her Crux" by Baardman from the UK is deep, warm, and dreamy, featuring a beautiful vocal part during the break.

Einmusik and Jordan Arts have teamed up once again to create a beautiful and mesmerizing new track. Building on the success of their previous collaborations, "Echoes" elevates their artistry to new heights. The ‘C’est Toi’ artwork is a photograph taken by Jan Erik Waider at Hoffellsjökull glacial lagoon in Iceland, which is part of Vatnajökull National Park. A fine art photographer based in Hamburg, Germany, Jan is known for capturing abstract landscapes of the northern latitudes. With a focus on water, ice, and intricate natural patterns, his work reveals the beauty hidden in the subtle details of the world around us.

Exploring icebergs frozen in glacial lagoons, with tunnels large enough to walk through, Hoffellsjökull glacial lagoon is one of the most surreal experiences Iceland's winter has to offer. Following the success of DISTORTION, Los Angeles-based artist Bobby Nourmand returns to Spectrum with his brand new two-track BURN EP. A journey through the darker, more cinematic side of electronic music, the EP seamlessly blends techno, post-punk, new wave, and dark disco influences.
 
The title track, BURN, sets the tone with deep, driving rhythms and atmospheric layers, offering a visceral and immersive experience. RISE follows with pulsating beats and soaring melodies, embodying a sense of renewal and resilience.

'The message of BURN is about letting go of self-doubt, obsession, and perfectionism. This music was created during a time of global uncertainty when the world felt disheveled, and we were all unsure of our futures-both as individuals and as a collective. It's easy to get stuck in the details, but doing so always gives us a false perspective. Staring too closely at something traps us in the weeds, while we have the ability to RISE and see things from a higher frequency. Bobby Nourmand - BURN

Creative force GIGEE is riding high, cutting through as one of the most exciting fresh producers right now. The Polish-born, Paris-based producer’s 2019 debut ‘Reborn Pulse’ EP on Berlin based label Katermukke put her firmly in the spotlight, charting high in Beatport’s Melodic House & Techno top 100 within days, and singled out for support by Sven Vath. She followed that up by also joining and becoming an exciting new name on Ralf Kollman and Anja Schneider’s Mobilee roster with her ‘Lullaby’ EP. She had honed her skills ghost-writing for other producers but was now putting her name out there and gaining her rightful place in the electronic scene.

A Self-taught producer, she has a fresh take on techno, blending elements such as progressive and melodic house and techno but typically rejecting formula and rulebook. Crossing genres not only in music but in fields of interest such as fashion or philanthropy, she works simultaneously on multiple ideas in a perfect creative storm. A longtime fan of classical music, she’s also in the past worked on a classical/electronic interface project among other new music which inspires her.

Growing up she was always a geek with the best playlist and CDs. For early influences she cites Paul Kalkbrenner, after exploring electro house, Brodinski, Boys Noize…and the dramatic passion of classical music. Her DJ days started during a gap year in Paris; already a music head, she collaborated with music collectives and played at the famous Batofar Club, before choosing music as a profession. She’s had much involvement in her past with reputable music tech startups, including Sillicon Valley visits, resulting in her selling her first app at the tender age of 21 etc. She’s an avid sports fanatic too with a big focus on the tennis circuit and also across her huge football passion, mostly for her beloved Manchester United. 

Most recently though music has been her focus and her "BERLIN EP” peaked as #3 in top10 release charts in Germany, #7 in Spain, also jumping into Mobilee's all time bestselling release. She received support from BBC Radio 1 hosts Pete Tong and Sarah Story, and gained huge support from a number of esteemed artists like David Guetta, ARTBAT, and Joris Voorn.

2022 has seen her showcase her skills at some of the worlds standout stages, make her North American tour debut, tour Germany often at big events at the likes of RitterButzke & TanzHaus West (Frankfurt), KitKat Berlin, Fusion Club, Kanello Galore Munster, 45Hertz Hamburg, Odonien Cologne & many more.

GIGEE is a much talked about and talented artist, and 2023 promises to be the year where we see her climb ever further to the upper echelons of electronic music.
