It’s been exactly one year since we interviewed Man Power for our MixedBy series. Since then, The Me Me Me founder has launched himself back into the world, returning to some form of normalcy post-COVID. The British maestro is back to throwing regular gigs in his home base of Newcastle and is touring once again, bringing his world-renowned DJ sets back to the masses.

To mark his welcomed return, Man Power has partnered with Finnish imprint Echocentric Records to release his first vinyl record of the year! Titled “Space Walk,” this EP contains a total of 3-tracks and sees Man Power in his element dishing out his signature sounds that have been labeled as ‘intergalactic house.’ However, in his latest rendition, the beats have more of a tribal feeling – resembling something closer to home than some of his extraterrestrial belters.

Case and point, we are premiering the A2 from the record titled “What a Puny Plan.” Like most dance tracks of this variety, I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on the track's name, but instead, concentrate on its melodies. The song grabs your attention immediately with its gyrating bassline and almost ancestral-sounding percussion. This gives the listener the feeling as if an ancient ritual is about to take place and that Man Power is the shaman leading the procession. Man Power then continues to layer in waves of ethereal synths over menacing horns that give the tune some much-needed gravity – compelling the dancefloor to come together and groove as one. “What a Puny Plan” might be the closest thing you’ll come to having a religious experience at the club and we’re ready to repent for our sins!

Tears began to flood his eyes and he couldn't catch his breath. He was keeled over, rolling around on the floor in fits of laughter. As soon as he'd calmed himself down just the slightest amount, he was off again in all-engulfing hysterics, the kind that shook your entire body and turned your cheeks a deep shade of red. What had even set him off in the first place? He couldn't actually remember... 'Now that's funny in itself', he thought... And off he went again...

Never one to take a straight-forward approach when it comes to music-making, Berlin-based master of everything Niklas Wandt throws all that good stuff in the mix for his new release on Warning. It's exactly what you would expect from the producer, percussionist, drummer, singer and knob twiddler - it's a mishmash of all the sounds that inspire him; there's robotic vocoder passages, ravey stabs, lush piano chords, squelchy acid lines and dusty breaks a plenty. Alongside the two originals, there's remixes from our good friend Fantastic Twins and another regular RSN collaborator Borusiade, who both put their own flips on Niklas' one of a kind creations.

Love is the answer, but what was the question?
Love is the most powerful force in the universe and we are all, in one way or another motivated by love. But this particular sentiment that is often portrayed as easy and pure, something that comes natural to us, can feel quite different in reality. What we think is supposed to be effortless, often has more complexity to it than we had hoped for: you could sum it up as "The Love Dilemma" – which is also the title of the second album by Benjamin Fröhlich.

Five years after his acclaimed debut album "Amiata", the producer, DJ and co-founder of Permanent Vacation returns with the concept album "The Love Dilemma", which explores the multi-layered matter of love. To be more precise, it is about any sort of relationship between humans, where love is involved. The album follows the structure of how a relationship can unfold: It starts off a bit misty and hazy and crawls up to some h(o)rmony and big endorphin highs. Over time the feeling intensifies with heat and sparks, before an inevitable friction and phase of questioning. Here, the tone switches and a clear cut marks a turning point. If the relationship continues, a new direction is taking over and stirs the boat into calmer, but not less intense waters, where it finally sails to unknown shores.

As the soundtrack for these different stages of a relationship, Benjamin chooses a mixture of 90's inspired Balearic, House, Ambient and Garage. You can find a lot of prominent basslines, pianos, vocal chops and percussions.

You wouldn't guess that Philipp Lenz aka Delenz's first love was Heavy Metal when you hear his new single with Zeitstill entitled »Church Times« - and churchy isn't really a word to describe these two tracks either … well … yet we do have to admit that they do contain a certain majesty and grandeur.
Let's start with »Church Times«: We do have indeed some majestic and spacey keyboard chords going on here. They are borne by a solid rhythm section consisting of the ever present pounding bass drum and a very dominant and easily recognizable bass line. Yet it's the keyboard sound that really is responsible for this beautiful atmosphere - may we say it could be time for church? The church of D.A.N.C.E. that is of course.
Track number two, »Chorus In Time«, isn't too far away from the title track in terms of vibe. The duo which runs Turbolenz Records succeeds in creating another atmospheric straight smasher. The same ingredients are at work here and should definitely convince you that you have to reckon with these guys. 
Take Mr. Delenz for example who is also one half of the Shayde duo with notable releases on esteemed labels such as BPitch Control, Connaisseur Recordings, Housewax and Moodmusic. He didn't stop with Heavy Metal of course - it wasn't long after the Techno bug bit the Taunus kid and he spent his weekends in Frankfurt’s notorious U60311 and Bingen’s classic Palazzo, finding inspiration by the likes of Johannes Heil, Sven Väth, Alter Ego, Plaid, Carl Craig, Richie Hawtin and Christian Morgenstern. And he didn't stop there either: After studying sound engineering he now works as an award winning audio engineer in Frankfurt am Main/Germany and continues his musical explorations in his own studio in Offenbach's Zollamt Studio.
Not so much is known about Mr. Zeitstill though - but do we have to know so much about him? We think not: As long as there's this marvelous cooperation with Delenz there is all you need to know - so please get to know them this way.

He has started playing back in 2017 and have quickly made a name with his diverse and different selections, where he mainly focuses on Tech House, House, Minimal and Breakbeat. However, he does not limit himself with the borders of electronic music genres and mixes any possible style to create exceptional and unique experiences.
