First song I ever recorded many many years ago but never released. Re produced it for todays tastes. Really a fun track with probably my best lyrics. The title is self explanatory.

 "Scotland Yard" is a rousing bit of rock noir from Canadian songwriter Iggy Natoli, who also goes by the name Hip Culture. Set in the midst of a violent British crime wave, this track features dark lyrics that serve as a stark contrast to the tune's cheery, upbeat character. A hook-laden, convivial pop/rock arrangement is heightened by some exceptionally creative use of foley, and features occasional bagpipes that lend a Celtic flavor. Impressive female vocals and a top notch band make Hip Culture's "Scotland Yard" an easy recommendation for pop/rock fans, and its sinister lyrical content could help to establish it as somewhat of an underground cult favorite.


Strongest Point(s):   Tremendous production, fantastic mix. Outstanding tonal balance and use of stereo width. Really a fun and engaging arrangement. Great use of foley and real audio to help set the stage. Excellent guitar hook that serves as a foundation. Bass sounds great, awesome line. Drum mix is near perfect. The pipes were a brilliant touch. Guitar solo at 2:50 is phenomenal, great tone and playing. Vocals are delivered with just the right amount of swagger and attitude, she sounds amazing. Lyrics are fun and dark, and in wonderful contrast to the musical character. That inherent juxtaposition is what really sells this song for me. Overall, this was a terrific endeavor executed flawlessly. Absolutely stellar work, by everyone involved!

Scotland Yard

Utterly catchy hooks, sterling performances, and sheer creative flair – this means it’s Hip Culture time of course! Now, life is filled with much uncertainty, and whilst the prospect of never knowing what might just be around the corner is a somewhat daunting one, there are at least a few things I can be sure about, one of those being that I just know I’m in for one heck of a good time when it comes to the music of Ignazio Natoli’s always exciting Hip Culture. This is a creative project that never ceases to raise a smile on my face and there seems to be no genre that Ignazio Natoli can’t tackle. “Valentino” sees Hip Culture blend pop, subtle elements of funk and dance, and alternative rock styles together to dazzling effect, presenting listeners with a rip-rollicking uptempo piece of songwriting that boasts soul-steeped vocal performances, virtuosic lead guitar work, body-moving rhythms, and a generally pleasant sense of character that will undoubtedly uplift many a spirit.

Strongest Point(s):   Melody is an integral pillar in any Iggy Natoli tune and “Valentino” is certainly no exception. I love the way melodic phrases are given even more weight through the effective use of instrumental layering, the brass, bass, and guitar unisons that occur throughout for example are delightfully meaty and help to double down on the song’s sense of groove perfectly. Iggy always knows how to draw the best performance from the vocalists and there’s just a general sense of fun and a free-spirited nature to the way the vocals present themselves that gives the music a feeling of vigor and excitement that simply cannot be denied. The technique-drenched guitar solo is a wonderful addition and certainly adds some nice moments of spice to the arrangement, perfectly complimenting the song’s already highly melodic nature without feeling overpowering or out of place. “Valentino’s” fantastic arrangement, performances, and writing are obviously heightened further by the outstanding mix that is both well-balanced, finely detailed, and sonically energizing.

Am ceva timp gandindu-ma daca sa fac acest mix sau nu. Break dance m-a fascinat dintotdeauna iar ca sa dansezi nu este deloc ușor. Ritmul si beat-ul ce provin din acest gen, dupa atâția ani inca este formidabil.
Melodiile au un nivel de energie 6, 7 si 8 pe...ori nu conteaza unde alegi sa dansezi..

I am like any other "bedroom DJs", my money are coming from a full time job in the Gas & Oil industry.
I remember year 1984...I was fascinated by break dance...then is when I had first contact with music. I bought my first walkman and Pet Shop Boys, Sandra, Michael Jackson, Bad Boys Blue, Madonna, Ace of Base, C&C and Music Factory, 2 Unlimited, etc, started to fill my years with their music.
Today, in 2019, deep house, trance, chill out, EDM, underground, are the genres who moves me.
Small thing about me: my life it was quite an adventure, a small odyssey I can say. You will see that some of the mixes have the description in 3 languages; English, Spanish and Romanian. That's why because I was born in Romania, I have worked in several countries in Europe and a very good part of it was in Spain. Now I'm settled in Calgary, Canada.
