I thought I was (am?) into a long sonic hut / creative block, so it's a bit surprising that this song came together. It's basically a patchwork of disparate ideas.

The opening sample (and then background drone) is, believe it or not, from Meghan Trainor's "Made You Look" - specifically the section where her backing vocals sing "Gucci on". My intention was to make a whole song out of it. This idea never took off. I even downloaded PaulXStretch to mess with it but it sounded way too easy and uninteresting. But amongst all the fails I found a fun way to endlessly stretch minute portions of the sample using Reason's graintable synth and developed the technique a bit more here.

The last few weeks, unwilling to fool around with the OP-1, or the guitar, or the piano, and feeling overwhelmed by all that can be done in a DAW, I remembered how expressive the opening songs from the Castlevania games were and started looking at YouTube videos about 8-bit sound synthesis. I was surprised to find out that, obviously, it was all basic waveforms and very basic modulation. So I experimented with recreating them with Reason's most basic synths and then realized it would go well with the endlessly stretched Megan Trainor sample. The "NES synth line" is probably my second recorded take of improvised playing in the 30 minutes I get when the kid is being put to bed.

Finally, the title popped in my mind while I was doomscrolling on the computer. I had an instant of awareness of how unaware I was, how distant from real life my mind was drifting - being there, but elsewhere.

Akasha

This track was created for my dear friend Cami. 

The intention of this session is to release stuck emotions, focus on the Throat Chakra to speak one's truth, and create a container for self-love, acceptance and visualization of prosperity and happiness with the alignment of the Third Eye and Crown Chakra :)

I used Tibetan Singing Bowls mostly in the keys G, A and B, 253 hz frequency, voice, and other sacred instruments, as well as @Echogridmusic for ambient music.

This session is dedicated to my sister Denise who is pregnant with Manú <3

Pregnancy, like other life-changing events in life, brings a mix of fulfilling emotions, as well as challenging moments. Our session was focused on flowing, so we asked for the help of our dolphin guides who share their water wisdom. 

We used a Tarot reading to discover our intentions and focus for this Presence Session. 

The buffalo drum, Tibetan singing bowls, and other sacred instruments mixed with the voice helped build up presence, inviting feelings of trust, strength, and pure love. 

Thank you @eastforest for the beautiful music I borrowed to close the track.

Born and raised in Argentina, with 8 years spent in California, I blend my Latin American roots with diverse cultural influences. My journey with sacred medicines like Ayahuasca and Vipassana retreats across California, Nepal, and Thailand has deeply shaped my approach to healing.

Certified in Sound Healing from the Globe Institute in San Francisco and trained in harmonization with Tibetan Singing bowls from Kathmandu, Nepal. Initiated in Reiki, Tarot and Akashic Records.

I'm also a DJ as I find joy in dance and community celebration as a collective transformation. Burner and raver 💃🏽🔥
