Peachlyfe (they/them) is a hydra-sonic electronic musician that shook & seduced the Copenhagen fast-paced techno scene, claiming their seat along with Endurance and Fast Forward.
Peachlyfe’s productions and live-sets rebelliously weave across genres, trippy melodies cut with heavy slaps while whispering in your ear about the dismantlement of the ‘cistem’. Their EP “All Tits are Real, All Money is Fake, All Hail Satan” is an ode to that anarchic-playfulness, a marvellous feat in blending rave-rush joy and queer defiance.
In early 2022, Peachlyfe releases “Against All Reason” on marum’s and BLEID’s label suspension, a 4-chapter tale through soundscapes of glitch, trancey dunes and euphoria, a vision excitedly in synch with the wave of dancefloor reopenings. 

“Against All Reason 1” opens with a cryptic and urgent sound-manifesto that envelopes the ideas behind this release. Prompted by the central question of Susan Schupli’s documentary “Can the Sun Lie”, Peachlyfe investigates que question of “reason”, a driving-question that appears in previous releases but under different shapes - the cis-hetero patriarchy that dictates which bodies, tits or dixx, expressions or sounds are respectable (or not). Those who challenge such canons are deemed ugly, inferior, swamp monsters. And so what? Against all reason, we love the swamp!

As the tone is set, “Against All Reason 2” blows it all up. The existential question is answered through gallopant beats and progressively euphoric harmonies, nudging the body straight into a glorious dance, followed by “Dance the Day Away” that steps up the parade with their seductive pace overlaid with a mesh of sexy sounds soaked on high-tone energy and joy - undoubtedly the uplifting anthem for 2022 we all needed. 
The deep slow burn “Creature Feature” journeys through looming synths and distant vocal-echoes, eventually jolted with a punching heartbeats, creating an other-worldly trip. The perfect closure of this album that so harmoniously seems to thread conflicting feelings and sounds, making space to cheerfully embrace the unknown, against all reason.

TC Premiere: DJ Europarking aka Dollkraut - Boompahpah [ UFO Inc. ]

Following her recent release with Live From Earth, Istanbul-rooted Nene H (@nenetreat) now launches her own label UMAY, aimed at representing SWANA and QTBIPOC artists. Inaugurated by Munich based trans activist BASHKKA (@bashkka), the EP titled Maktub (Arabic for ”its written”) materializes the artist's solo debut, and its trail blazes for queer club bangers. As BASHKKA states, ”Maktub is an idiosyncratic love letter to myself, my heritage and my community. My songs reflect the expedition of the past year and a half up until now and all the emotions that I gave myself space and fortitude to deal with and to also to relish in''.

BASHKKA, trained singer and songwriter, was born in Munich, but came of age amid the  New York Ballroom scene, which offered a different kind of family to the traditional Turkish one she grew up in. This dichotomy has been equally important in shaping BASHKKA’s identity as an artist—and is echoed throughout her solo debut which blends uptempo dance floor music with Kurdish vocal samples, alongside a Chicago-influenced bounce house piece featuring BASHKKA’s own vocals. The artwork by Copenhagen based Noah Umur Kanber complements these influences impressively, taking inspiration from Sumerian mythology and the non-binary goddesses Ishtar and Ereshkigal which can be seen in the motif. It's these two figures that BASHKKA has found most interesting in reflecting on her inner conflicts in regards to her personal history. Ishtar as the goddess of love and sexuality and Ereshkigal, representing the underworld. That is why BASHKKA’s debut EP turns out to be an intensely personal project, a love letter towards her foremost defining influences: her Turkish heritage and the queer community. She says, ”my sound hasn’t been as much of a thought through process and rather an echo of feelings passing through different margins, styles and all underrepresented communities..” 

UMAY starts as a non-profit label sharing the revenue with its artists, an open critique against industry standards, crude label politics and the dominant music business model that Nene H has had to painfully experience herself in the recent years. With Maktub, UMAY spotlights Nene H’s  close friend and ally whose presence in the European club community has recently risen at an astounding pace, as demonstrated by her presence at some of the most renowned clubs such as Berghain / Panorama Bar. 

The EP features four original tracks by BASHKKA, complemented with a remix by label mommy Nene H. Maktub will first appear digitally on February 15th via UMAY and is followed by a vinyl release and music video in the summer. Dedicated merchandise is available via Bandcamp, profits from the merchandise go to The Association for Support for Transgender Children (FSTB).

UMAY is Nene H’s newly founded venturesome platform for emerging music artists, aimed to build bridges and empower local culture, giving visibility for geographically underrepresented regions and artists with a strong focus on South, Western Asian and African artists as well as QTBIPOC. UMAY focuses on establishing trustful and long-lasting relationships with its community, in an attempt to defy the challenges emerging artists come across in the modern music business. While being completely transparent and non-profit, UMAY aims to stand aside in trustful partnerships with its artists and not in hierarchy. UMAY focuses on releasing genuine electronic music productions, innovative merchandise and a respectful representation of its artists backgrounds within the context of each release. Umay is the goddess of fertility in Central Asian Turkic mythology and Tengriism and as such related to women, mothers and children. SPLOT – collective, club night, record label. Founded in 2019 by Glassz and Guiltee with a goal of challenging and broadening the ideas of club music existing in our local scene. Having the mission of spreading our fascination with broken beats, dub, techno, UK bass and anything in between at heart, we’ve already had the pleasure of hosting a couple of renowned artists such as Bruce, Rhyw, Appleblim, Low End Activist, Awkwardly Social, Forest Drive West or Mani Festo and trailblazed our own bass-path through the city soundscape, releasing local talents such as dadan karambolo or IWANN.

Following is Rabbit-Hole that shows you how deep the bass and rabbit-hole go; the track is a dynamic cut of charming electro bass. For the title track Entourage, Yes Stanley takes us to territory of groovy trance; designed for big techno rooms, presenting grinded textures and modern stereo rhythms. Kyiv13 is a personal summary, swinging around modern breakbeat featuring a sequence of lovely pads, french vocals, amen breaks and acid bass.
