Mixmag Adria premiere's Derek West's debut EP ''Nebula'' on I Am Different. West is a Belgrade based tech house, melodic house, and techno DJ & music producer. 

''Nebula'' features the original track and three remixes: also by first-time IAD artists Eric Rose and Chaum, and by Tim Jackman, already a well-known I Am Different resident. Kyiv-based DJ and sound producer Eric Rose brings us a great groove in a modern melodic techno style. His remix gives us a completely new look at the original track.

"There are at least two kinds of space relevant to our human identity. As biological organisms and as social agents we live our lives within spaces bounded by natural and artificial extensive boundaries, that is, within zones that extend in space up to a limit marked by a frontier. Whether we are talking about the frontiers of a country, a city, a neighborhood or an ecosystem, inhabiting these extensive spaces is part of what defines our social and biological identities. There are, however, other well-defined spaces which we also inhabit but which are less familiar: these are zones of intensity, not only those zones of temperature that define different ecosystems (from hot jungles to cold tundras), but also the zones of high pressure explored by deep-sea divers, or the zones of low gravity explored by astronauts. These other spaces are also bounded but in a different way, the limits of one zone marked by critical points of temperature, pressure, gravity, density, tension, connectivity, points defining abrupt transitions in the state of the creatures inhabiting those zones."

Welcome to this new RISE Breathwork journey — a 24-minute practice designed to shift your state of being into clarity and connection. Across four powerful breathing cycles, you’ll be guided to release distractions, clear your mind, and reconnect with yourself on a deeper level. Through the rhythm of breath and music, you’ll experience how quickly you can shift your inner-state.

Your guide: Joep Mencke — breathwork facilitator, DJ, and music producer — has led sessions across the globe for the past three years. His mission is to make transformation accessible and help you integrate breathwork into your daily life. In this practice, you’ll move through cycles of conscious connected breathing, gentle retentions, and moments of stillness, all supported by an original soundtrack composed by Joep. The music blends grounding textures, expansive harmonies, and immersive layers to carry you deeper into clarity and connection.

What to expect in this session:
• 24-minute guided breathwork journey
• Four cycles designed to clear the mind and reconnect with self
• Original music and soundscapes by Joep Mencke
• A balance of activation and integration
• Accessible to all levels — no prior experience required

Wearing headphones is a must — they help you stay in your own bubble and fully immerse without distractions from your environment

Can be done sitting or lying down in a comfortable, undisturbed space

Breathwork Instructions

This is a connected breath practice — no pause between inhale and exhale.
 • Inhale: Belly & chest expand
 • Exhale: Belly & chest fall
 • Breathing in: Mouth (more powerful) or nose (gentler)
 • Breathing out: Mouth
 • Each cycle includes dynamic breathing followed by two retentions (~45 sec after exhale, then ~45 sec after inhale).
 • You may feel tingling, changes in temperature, or mild muscle tension — these are normal effects of breathwork.
 • If overwhelmed, return to gentle breathing in and out through the nose.
 • Always listen to your body and never force anything.

If you have a history of psychosis or epileptic seizures, this practice is not for you.

If you are currently pregnant, please listen closely to your body. Only participate if it feels right for you — and do not perform or hold any of the breath retentions.

If in doubt, consult your physician.
