Dan Shake is probably best known more recently for being the first non-Detroit native to release on Moodyman’s legendary Maohgani Music label - and that was with this debut release, ever! Having built his name across the UK and overseas with regular shows at London’s Corsica Studios Sessions, Dimensions Festival and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide to name but a few, Dan dropped his debut release via Mahogani music in early 2014, following up with a sold-out release on Bristol based Black Acre this year. Now the respected selector teams up with Wolf Music regular Medlar and joins the Delusions Of Grandeur family (home to the likes of Session Victim, 6th Borough Project and Toby Tobias) with the funk fuelled Walk EP.

We’re happy to welcome Australia’s Greywolf to the BHM team with the classic house filled ‘Rush:Caught EP’. The lead Track ‘Rush’ takes us back to the early 2000’s with it’s cleverly cut samples with a vibe that can only remind you of the early days of Daft Punk. On the remix is Sydney based, Adamwah who has been smashing some heavy club hitters for the likes of Nurvous Recordings in NYC, and this remix is no exception! 

‘Caught’ ties up this EP with a deeper vibe, using some dreamy atmospheric pads and vocals, combined with an incredibly funky bassline. Remixing ‘Caught’ is Jakarta’s Andezzz, who strips it back to a soulful groove, perfect for the poolside set.

Gilbert Le Funk is a DJ, musician and record producer.
 
Starting to compose at the age of 11, he got into music production in the late 90s, greatly influenced by the eurodance and house music of Paul Van Dyk, Bob Sinclar, Armand Van Helden, or ATB. Though later he would spend the day listening to more diverse music, from Stravinsky to Casiopea, Incognito or Frank Zappa, which lead him to learn to play electric bass and trumpet as well as setting up is own studio, where he would first work as a musical arranger for other artists.

In 2005 he was moving away from acid jazz and his label La Musique Fantastique was born, starting his Gilbert Le Funk project by making remixes for labels Delecto (CAN), Catch 22 (NYC) or Transport (SF) as well as playing some of the biggest soulful house music acts all over Spain. In 2006 he produced “Work It Out” for DJ Disciple, a track that would mark a before and after in his career, making him responsible for one of the underground hymns during that year. Later, his remix of "L.A. Girls" was premiered by Dimitri From Paris and used on the MTV series "The Hills". In 2008, "Afrikantastique" got licensed by Defected and Subliminal and it wasn't long until he became a major player in the house scene. 

A solid string of releases have followed since then, topping the charts "All About the 90s", "Something", "New Dawn" or the more recent "Wanna Be Free", taking him to tour the world as a DJ, playing venues from the US to Costa Rica, Russia or UAE.
