'desperate' really sets the tone of my upcoming album, '3am'. It was one of the first songs I wrote for 3am and it’s also one of my favorites. It’s angsty and authentic. ‘desperate’ tells the story of having feelings for someone else while in a relationship, describing both the thrill and guilt that comes with it.”

"high" is inspired by real emotions, although not every lyric is true to my own life. In the relationship I was in, I had a moment where I felt the guy I was dating was detached and constantly at parties with his friends rather than being there for me when I needed him. I took this momentary feeling and channeled it into "high".
