The Nothing Kings was a musical collaboration between the late Jim Clarke (aka bobstinsonsghost on YouTube) and Gil Michael. Jim wrote the lyrics and Gil composed the music and vocals for Jim's words and played a Gretsch 6120 Setzer electric plugged straight to computer. Daniel Kahn plays the bass guitar. The video is a 1940s educational film about inertia. Recorded in December 2012.

Wrote this song on July, 26 2010. Something came over me and I wrote these lyrics about death and the process of dying. I put them away thinking it was too morbid and wasn't worth making a song about. Next day YouTuber Miker2 contacted me and told me Ben Keith had died yesterday. I love Ben Keith's music and was stunned by this news. I realized I had written this song the same day he passed away. I dropped everything and made music for the lyrics, recording the first and only take to capture the feeling. Then I contacted slide guitarist Charlie Betts who was also a Ben Keith fan (we had collaborated on Neil Young covers) and he added a soulful slide guitar to the song.

Needle In The Hay

I wrote this song for my daughter on April 20, 2008 when she was 19  months old. I was holding her and we touched noses and she laughed. It was at that precise moment that this song came to me. The video of her is from that day while the song was being  created in my head. I focused on remembering the song all day. When I got home I wrote down the words and recorded  the song right away.

Just An Old Barn Find

First Original song I ever wrote back in 1977. Hard to believe this song is that old now. Written from the perspective of a much older me (which I am now) looking back in appreciation for all the music that shaped me growing up.

A song about Life that uses roads, seasons, time, friends, and memories as inspiration. The motorcycle ride is a metaphor for that journey. Intro photo is of me and my old Ducati on Mt. Hamilton.
