We are so excited to announce that Gimme A Break’s “WE ARE VIABLE” compilation will be released on Friday 13th November!!!! Over the last few months we have been extremely lucky to work with 15 producers from Leeds and further afield to curate an album of UKG, breakbeat, techno and jungle edits. ALL of the proceeds from this compilation will be donated to MAP, a Leeds-based charity providing alternative music education to young people who cannot access mainstream schooling. In these trying times, we must support charities such as MAP which are integral to the North’s creativity and vibrant music scene.

Finally, we’d like to say an enormous thank you to Alex Kubis and Ben Mercer who have designed the pengggg album artwork for this project. So happy with how these have turned out! Whack those coordinates into google and see where ya end up :)

For our first edit, Manchester-based Slim Shae has whipped up a steaming electro remix of Ojerime’s Give It Up 2 Me. With bouncing basslines and crispy drums, Shae follows on from his previous release on The Lock In compilation released by Leeds-based label 199. Manchester born and Sheffield based @mean_e debuts on GAB Records with his latest single: ‘Not a Beyoncé Remix, I Promise’. Having kickstarted his endeavour into music production working with labels such as Lobster Theremin, CYBERJIT and more recently, Jerry Horny for their first compilation, Mean-E is no novice. Being a predominately Electro orientated DJ, in his latest tune, Joel takes some breaks and some Beyoncé, expertly fusing them together with deep, punchy 808 sub basses and choppy percussion for this 160bpm breakbeat sheller.
