Hailing from Rotterdam, DJ Crisps returns to Time Is Now with another hot and heavy four tracker, teasing experimental genre play on the newest addition to his fast-growing discography. This exciting collection of modern garage reinventions is not to be missed.

No Dirty Money EP showcases DJ Crisps’ clever production style, a mix of drama and fun; ‘Don’t Need No Dirty Money’ kicks the record off with staccato minimalist percs that have a metallic edge, effervescent vocal samples contrasting the momentous sub bass. ‘Dynamic Reflections’ creates an icier soundscape, juxtaposed arpeggios echoing each other across a calm, deep bassline and cavernous pads - gentle, but still alive and kicking. Lazy sax and ghostly pads open the expansive B side; ‘Release the Pain’ then flips the energy with a Niche style bassline and cheeky garage synths. The jazz samples remain to create a real fusion sound. To end, ‘Sweet Melodies’ pairs dirty garage with funk n soul, chopped up vocals and a classic James Brown sample making this high energy track even more vibrant - a joyous end to the EP.

With an impressive backlog of releases on Out of Sorts, childsplay, Shubzin, CAROUSE, Belek Records, Jerry Horny, Hyperdome Records, Hang Tough, Angels Gun Club and his own imprint Meld Records, mod-r has developed outstanding technical abilities allowing him to produce tracks spanning electro, breaks, jungle and percussive styles. His EP on Gimme A Break Records broadens the Aberdeen-based producer’s repertoire further by exploring the recently revived UK Garage/Breaks crossover with Obatalla.
“Lord (Rave Mix)” offers a warehouse-ready anthem brimming with expertly chopped breakbeats. The track’s euphoric vocal lines and hardcore-inspired keys offer brief respite from the EP’s otherwise murky sound palette.

Etari - With You (Stones Taro Remix)[NB001]

Over the past couple years, Native Boundaries has established itself as a respected curator of parties that push the boundaries of music and fun In the Los Angeles underground. For our first EP, we a honored to be working with a mix of local LA up and coming talent with some internationally respect artists as well. This release embodies the spirit of breaks pushing the limits of the genre with two originals from Etari diving into an elusive, yet methodical territory with beautifully processed vocal samples and tribal influences. Other LA local, User Delusion has created a more aggressive yet beautiful, edit to “With You” accompanied with a soulful R&B vocal. Stones Tarot has also remixed “With You” with his signature breaky garage sound as his own rendition also including a more agro bass-line and yet soothing vibe. Finally Berlin Legend Iron Curtis has remixed “Midnight Mood” with a very emotionally moving melodic feeling along with an acidic texture and minimal beat.

Rusty syncopated drum samples, chest-hitting leads, woofers smashing sub-bass patterns, a constant wave between 2-step and 4x4 Kick drum Patterns, and vocal motifs from back in the day.
