The inspiration for Party Pooper came from an experience we had when we played a few shows in Ireland in 2018. We had a massive night out, played a show, found a jam in a nightclub, and met this guy who followed us around for the rest of the night bumming ciggies, drinks, talking shit and totally melting our brains the entire night! We’re too nice, we didn’t say anything to him at the time because our mum taught us that if we didn’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all! We wanted to make a kind of stupid garagey song about it and voila! Here it is

Poppy, charismatic and fun, Gimme Gimme releases a new track about late nights and the intoxication of new love. 

Australian brother-sister duo Gimme Gimme are excited to reveal their new song Silk, which marks the third single of the duo’s forthcoming EP, ‘Taylor St’, due for release early 2021.

“Silk was actually inspired by our love of shopping for second hand clothes in country op-shops! Essie’s love/obsession with finding silk became a running joke so we decided to write a hook around it and it blossomed into this cute, totally ridiculous love song. Who’da bloody thunkit!” - Will Henderson.

The lighthearted pop track is in polar opposite contrast to the darkness of their previous release, ‘Fight Dirty’ ft Van Hunt. Together with their first release, ‘The Feed’, the shape of the duo’s forthcoming EP Taylor St becomes both more diverse and more defined.

The pop brainchild of siblings Esther and Will Henderson, Gimme Gimme’s sound is evocative of early Justin Timberlake, their mum’s favourite singer, Sade, Will’s love of artists like Still Woozy and Remi Wolf, and Esther’s love of Patrice Rushen, AMber Mark and Emily King.

Born and raised in country NSW, the duo have traversed Europe and all across Australia touring together. After spending the past 8 years in Berlin Will is now living in Mullumbimby, NSW, and Esther in Melbourne. They have a second album of songs which they hope to begin recording with their Berlin based producer, Tim Granbacka next year.

New Age Pacifier (Interlude)

Will and Esther grew up in a small country town in NSW, learning violin from their mum from the tender age of 3. Will took up guitar after discovering Jimi Hendrix at age 13 and Esther kept on with classical violin. In 2011 Will moved to Berlin in pursuit of love and Esther moved to Melbourne for its straight roads and good coffee. They discovered that writing together was fun and easy and would enable cost-free summer catchups if they gigged their butts off! This exploded into playing shows Germany, Ireland, Denmark, Greece, Switzerland and have toured up and down the East and West coasts of Australia two years in a row, selling out venues and making new friends around the globe. The last two years have seen these siblings write and record their songs, which are now ready to release. 

Gimme Gimme’s music is inspired by the siblings’ addiction to Rage in the 90s, their mum’s favourite artists like Sade and Supertramp, and their own love for current artists, Still Woozy, Van Hunt, Solange, Frank Ocean and Tame Impala. 

In late 2019 they recorded their debut EP with Berlin based producer, Tim Granbacka, featuring LA. based artist Van Hunt. Mixed and mastered by one of Melbourne’s finest musical engineers Nick Herrera (Hiatus Kaiyote, Slowfade) at The Grove, in Coburg.
