Bell is slashing 4,800 jobs or 9 per cent of its workforce. 
Gina Lorentz, Fanshawe College Journalism program coordinator was invited to comment. She's a former award-winning journalist including her time at CHML. The silver lining is that smaller radio companies that know how to do local radio are buying most of the radio stations Bell doesn't want. Maybe they'll tailor to the flavour of the communities they'll serve because it is a viable business.
