sorbitol drops alias Antonín Závodný is Chrudim (Czech rep.) born, Prague based multidisciplinary artist, curator and a steampower of the establishing Trať festival. With an ear for crispy refined sound design as well as a sense for substantial and dynamic sonic world-building, he proves to be a newfound talent within the Czech experimental music scene – the kind that doesn't appear every year. After being aware of each other long before he'd start making music, Gin&Platonic are now tickled to introduce sorbitol drops with his ambitious premiere project 'Remízek Music'.

Produced with the spatiality of a six-channel audio instalation in mind, Závodný guides us on an excursion into the haven of his resourceful sound palette, portraying a vibrant place existing almost comically on it’s own. The term 'remízek' is used to describe a special type of grove – an unnaturally planted assemblage of a so-called forest, almost ironically dragged-and-dropped to exist surrounded by any kind of agricultural landscape. When entering such a grove from an open field, there is no gradual transformation from one biocenosis to another, creating a situation where a radical switch between two completely different worlds is just a few footsteps away.
While traversing this cute but absurd tableau of the audible forrest oasis, stripped down of it's original sprawl, we promptly find ourselves under a pressure of a constant neurotic crackle, harrowing creaky moaning, all participating in recurrent ambiguous breakdowns. Naive melodies buzz out from echoes of the interactions of temporary inhabitants of the environment, revealing their needs in territorial contradictions. At times, these melodies merge into a playful conversation of camaraderie; at other times, they spiral into wordless-but-loud dramas and overall tensions of sharing a limited space in which they are forced to coexist. Utilizing sounds of materials found in this harbor combined with highly processed samples, the result is a convincing fusion of narrative composition shaping up in a expressive bricolage full of harmless tension and lively contrast.

24 years old, the self-proclaimed 'clothed and courageous' kodiki definitely is one of the most promising artists to emerge from (not only) the Slovakian electronic scene in recent years. First and foremost, the jovial and ever-kinetic enigma is a producer, model, and performer known for his engaging stage presence that feels more like a performative adrenaline rush than a standard guy+laptop situation. After self-releasing a couple of singles, including '300dB' and the 'Muliebre' EP, he later doubled up with a well-received '600dB' EP, all while being busy playing prominent triple-A festivals as well as off-the-grid ratholes.
While live, kodiki's signature animated self-puppetry embodies the sound itself to the extent that it becomes an inseparable part of his real-time sonic narration. Highly recommended to catch him live with his highly anticipated debut album, which Gin&Platonic is now honored to present.

Ostrava–Poruba born-and-raised national champion in biathlon and fresh alumna of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, LilaTesla, alias Markéta Kubíčková, is foremost a ☆ sick girl making sick music ☆, and she’s right in your face, ready to prove it once and for all. After actively performing for quite some time and steadily gaining recognition across the Czech music and art scene, the aspiring superstar unveiled her full-fledged producer abilities with the Jasmine Romance EP, self-released in early 2023. Having followed her rise closely since the days when she was a steady visitor at our earliest events, we at Gin&Platonic are reveling in this full-circle moment: the announcement of Lila's debut longplay album – FATAL.

In the making for an extensive period of time, FATAL's final shape was refined by gritty Icelandic elements, woven together with creative outbursts from collaborations with newfound musical companions, as well as a tide of grief caused by the tragic loss of an unexpected inspirational acquaintance. Outlined by the fruitful loneliness of a semester in Gdańsk and the following visit to Reykjavík, an intense calling to find her own genuineness took off. At its core, FATAL is about self-confidence – and the longing not to be just a 'girl that makes music,' but to be seen as a musician.
On the album, Lila allows herself to express intuitively – layering her sonic narration without a preoccupied direction, much like she freely portrays her day-to-day silly–cheesy stories. The process of trial and error is almost tangible throughout FATAL, mixing diverse ingredients into a seductive potion of late-night elegance, alluring like her self-composed perfume, which was part of her recent diploma. The base of the FATAL scent: being a teen and completely obsessed; the heart: bravery and genuine mischief; the top: evaporating into radical fragility.

Post-'Cordial' (out earlier this year via mondoj), Ursula slips past the weight of the sophomore-LP-expectations and lets spontaneity leak in. Unlock is held together by quiet courage – opening doors, breaking cycles, choosing movement over repetition. Hope is shaped by work, grief steps aside for love, anger learns how to soften. The record hums with fear and change, asking softly: must history repeat itself, or can it be rewritten?
'Chest Pain' tightens around the fear of connection. 'Butter me' oozes care – warm, thick, gloriously messy. 'Spiders' stitches the body back into a home, a sanctuary after harm. 'AFK I' drifts through vulnerability and the ache of rejection. 'FFEEFEE' squints toward adulthood in a world pretending it knows what that means. Hailing from the picturesque country of Italy, Francesco is a bold producer, a creative coder, a former sound design teacher, a devoted pasta connoisseur, and a very angry typer. Proving his fearless approach to music production, his Discogs diploma boasts a number of contributions to various comps, collab work with Noumeno for which the duo uses the name Hyter, a collab with Antonia TM from Ashida Park as well as solo stuff such as a game soundtrack composition, and a full-length album via CLAM. Our label is now presenting his latest auditory-meatus-bending release, which comes after we extensively relied on his tracks in nearly every DJ set we've played.

Step into the wild ecosystem of scientifically precise sounds that crawl around and gradually reveal themselves, entangled under the dim moonlight. MIMETIC FAUNA compellingly showcases Francesco's expertise in weaving together cutting-edge and groundbreaking sounds. He skillfully constructs pumpy build-ups and blends the invading melodies, sometimes with a touch of soundtrack-kinda opulence, other times with straight-forward trap swagger. Following up the Genot Centre record with Keru Not Ever as Corporation and the stunning solo albums on Danse Noire, we're now blessed to present his newest longplay 'Boue', simply translated from French as 'mud'.

Offshore it's foul weather.

I climbed down the stone steps of my two-storey tower to reach the shore. Anthracite. The steps are slow and precise; those of a new life apprehending itself in its fresh descent. I used to be a composer: 142 pieces of varying length mourn my career. Mostly for string quartet. I tried orchestrating percussion with tuba. To no avail. No albums, but individual pieces, yes, pieces that bled the contradictions of the world through sketches of bronze angels. I tried to compose it as well as I could: every day I'd add a new note, the next day I'd remove it. In this gap, between adding and removing, lay the beauty of the music. This is how I managed to compose the 142 pieces that today resonate in the belly of every betrayed.

Where was my mother when I was presenting these pieces to the world? In the emotion or indifference of the sound meadows? My mother, who bequeathed me her heart defect as an inheritance, all the better to avoid me? The heart I now have, — transplanted from a pig, whose vena cava is slightly smaller in diameter than the human average — leaving me gasping for breath when I climb the surrounding mountains? She sent me just one letter, too short, in which she told me she had gone to hear one of my pieces, the performance of which lasted 4 hours and 13 minutes, in Budapest: “Dear Pascalin, your piece performed at the Bela Bartok National Concert Hall reminds me of the day you were born, when we parted. This made me cry a little. Iˇm not being facetious, it's the truth. Suddenly your life appeared to me, in the music, as a morsel of forgotten evidence. Kisses. Madeleine.”

The rising air is pure.

As I reached the shore, I gave my hatred of music to the seagulls, which squawked at the shrill of my footsteps shuffling across the polished stones. Their music is close to mine, I thought. A great wind of a new day carried their polyphony to the storms of the open sea. Cantatas, arias and requiems, all at once, in the undulating rage of the horizon. This time I’m in is nasty, isn't it? Living with these seagulls that sing for no one. My pig’s heart is beginning to beat faster. This heart inside me that isn’t mine but makes me live. I take a metal chair that had been lying on the shore since last summer, and I sit on it. Look over there, she says. I pick up an abandoned driftwood branch, washed by the sea’s salt, and wave it in the air, signaling the rain’s slow arrival. A morsel of forgotten evidence, I silently think. Lately, good foul weather to compose anew.

Himera (@djhimera) is an emerging Ireland-based producer, originally born in Latvia to a Russian-speaking family. Last year, a trip back to his motherland introduced him to the atmosphere of eastern European rave culture, which helped to originate Himera's working process on his sophomore record. 

Fragile, a follow-up to his 2017 self-released debut project Angel EP, is a warm and colorful collection of blissful yet thrilling trance anthems, carefully wrapped up in contemporary club-ready aesthetics. Pointillistically drawn buildups quickly swell into intense periods of absolute euphoria then descend into celestial beatless compositions, capturing the dialectic of pleasure and exhaustion. It is where nightcore YouTube mixes meet the sounds of early dubstep or EDM, polished according to the advanced trance science of Ferry Corsten or Lorenzo Senni. This album has the potential to overtake huge stadium spaces as well as heal listeners' open wounds through their own home speakers. 
Himera's fascination with Dance Dance Revolution and shoot 'em up games can be heard clearly throughout the record. Indeed, Fragile feels like a soundtrack to an endless stream of attacking enemies in the form of information overload, coming from screens and signs of various sizes. 

Truth be told, the tension of an ecstatic state can't expand forever. It is just as fragile as a butterfly's wing. And we all are, too.

@trngs is a maximalist hi-fi music producer, multimedial artist and an occasional but quite a good sk8ter. After us grinding heavy on his last year’s projects BILOCATE and LAPTOP CREMATION, we reached out and he shared couple of very intense wav. files with us to put on our bandcamp. 

All the three files contain visceral sound tangles, which TRNGS himself (with our honest confirmation) insists on calling „dance“ music. Like in the cover of the record, which is capturing the tragedy of today's environmental condition, bits of the artificial sound elements blend insensibly into the organic material, all together creating a complicated 3-part puzzle, layed out on dark and rather disturbing background. 
„I am very passionate about making music with sort of uncanny relationship between synthesized and sampled sounds“, describes TRNGS on that note. 

We have designed a sleek 3D-printed flower pot as an object accompanying the EP, so you can plant yourself a dose of organic green hope (with possible shades of purple) into this tiny zen garden.

With a handful of releases out on various pioneering imprints (including longplays RISC Chip and Meme Booth via Conditional Records or the latest contribution to the groove series by Warsaw based label outlines), the producer, programmer and live-coder Mike Hodnick is one of the leading figures representing a movement of computer-centred music production, recently labeled as algorave. Since we are devoted fans for quite some time, the Platonic's are proud to present Mike Hodnick´s latest project under the prolific Kindohm alias - 'Deserted / Reclaimed'.
Sequenced live on a drum machine, the diptych stretches across four vast sonic plains, bounded by curvy dunes formed by countless TidalCycles code bits, constantly pouring over like the grains of scorching and shiny sand. Full of paradoxical rhythm twists planted into the ever-bending landscape, Deserted / Reclaimed reads as a fragmented and sometimes petrifying ride towards the chaotic percepts of the monumental surroundings, dissolving in the thermal inversion somewhere far on the horizon.
