Produced slowly and meticulously over the last 12
months, these seven tracks are the closet thing we've
had to a new album from Andy Stott since the release
of his debut full-length Merciless five years ago.
Taking influence from an array of seemingly incoherent
noises, from the indefinable and unforgettable mindtricks
of Arthur Russell to the slowhouse of Kassem
Mosse, from the alternate VHS realities of James
Ferraro and Jamal Moss to the Linn Drum classics of the
vintage Prince era - these seven tracks create their own
pace and agenda, largely shying away from the
dancefloor in favour of something more complex and
hard to define.
Following on from the tribal malfunctions of opening
intro Signature, New Ground heads into a chasm of
layered loops, creating a decimated and re-wired funk
template coloured in with frayed percussion and
dislodged vocal samples. North To South starts off from
similar ground but adds a shuffling vibe at a deceptively
intoxicated 110 bpm.
Intermittent is something altogether different, taking
perfectly formed Boogie templates and screwing with
them until nothing quite fits, brittle elements floating in
and out of time yet somehow keeping it together,
before Dark Details delivers the most dancefloor
compatible six minute stretch of the set, all clanging
stabs and dense percussion, somewhere between
Shackleton and Bam Bam.
Execution and Passed Me By end things off on a slowed
down tip, the former deploying an anaesthetised and
padded 4/4 template sunk deeper into the abyss by
deformed, time-stretched vocals, the latter ending off
proceedings with a more delicate palette, letting go of
all that pent-up emotion with nothing but that rumbling
low-end and some strings for company.

Kitkaliitto come from Finland and are a really loose band in terms of membership - there can be one to five people in the studio just jamming together and what they usually generate is a music-driven stream of consciousness that also materialized through the years into these 6 exquisite tracks on their Pleasure Disorder EP.

They use analog and digital synths, guitar, bass, flute and sometimes have guest vocalists. Even though everything happens impromptu, there's more to these jam session than words could describe, hence the results are nothing short of amazing. They've been together, on and off, as Kitkaliitto for 10 years and their taste-range has led them in and out of electronic music, yet these tracks sound as timeless as music ever gets, six downtempo compositions that ooze the playful intimacy that can only be attributed to the decade of crafting a strong, remarkable sonic personality.

After hearing them on Natura Sonoris 4 years ago we connected through Borealis' "Voidness" where they were featured as remixers. We are proud to provide the platform for their sophomore release, 6 years after their debut on Kann Records and we are already excited about the Reverend Slim remixes EP that will follow later in the year.

2016 is Pedestrian's year. After a ~yearlong hiatus from music-making, Pedestrian returns next month with the four-track concept Circadian Rhythms EP, marking the debut release on his Dama Dama label (co-owned with the Maribou State boys). The label compatriots unite on the EP's closing track, "JNT". A warmly welcomed collaboration of synths and strings slowly building to a two-stepping peak, following on from Pedestrian's cameo on their Portraits LP last summer.

Circadian Rhythms EP marks the first release on Dama Dama, dropping on February 12th.

Fabiano Scodeler is professor, master in Brazilian Literature, composer, lyricist, singer and one of the responsible for Galope Discos. Since 2010 he has been a music producer, being at the head of Projeto Mujique. Its sound mixes Brazilian popular music (such as the congada, the batuques of Afro-Brazilian religions and samba), rock and electronic music. But, above all, it performs a search for psychedelic experimentalism, trying to explore several rhythms and possibilities that modern platforms of music production offer. This psychedelic syncretism can be accompanied in its presentations, in which beats, samples, synths, voices, capture of nature and the internet are the basis of sonority. An authorial song that tries not to stick to labels and offer a unique listening experience for the audience.
He has participated in important events in Brazil such as Eletronika (BH), Ressonar (BA) and Virada Cultural (SP) and has been part of Brazilian and international musical collections: Hy Brazil, Voodoohop, Tropical Twista, Quiero Recordings, Altnewspaper and others. His music has been performed on radio stations around the world, such as BBC Radio 3 in London, Electron Libres of Canada and AfterFM (USA) and has also been featured on relevant websites, having been included in the weekly list Of Bandcamp.
