“I was working on a funky groove and felt like a good French vocal on top would be the key to making it work. I heard about Emma El Shir through a friend and decided to reach out. We had good connection and understanding about the vibe of the track and when Emma sent me some the vocals she’d been playing around with for the track, they worked perfectly. They add a certain edge.”

It’s been an incredible honor for me to reimagine "Sabu," a masterpiece by the legendary Oumou Sangaré. Her music has shaped the cultural landscape of Mali and African music as a whole, and being able to work with her artistry is something I’m truly proud of. With this project, I aimed to celebrate her legacy while bringing her powerful sound into a fresh, electronic context. It’s my way of bridging the timeless traditions of African music with a modern vibe, and I hope it resonates with listeners everywhere.

DJ/Producer and guitarist Ginton emerges as a sonic trailblazer, destined to weave his signature guitar riffs and widely appealing beats into the global tapestry of music. His journey began as a young prodigy, immersing himself in the intricate world of Jazz Guitar at the renowned Conservatorium in Rotterdam. 

Drawing inspiration from musical legends like Santana, Jimi Hendrix, and The Wailers, Ginton embarked on a distinctive course. He garnered attention by co-producing "Tie That Binds" for global superstar Drake. The song became a standout feature of the certified platinum and Billboard’s #1 'Honestly, Nevermind' album. 

Continuing this success, Ginton produced songs for esteemed artists Lojay, Rico Nasty, and, Ape Drums (Major Lazer). Ginton additionally contributed to Gordo's achievements by co-producing Candid Zone (feat. Leon Bridges), which features on the DIAMANTE album and peaked on Billboard's acclaimed Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart at #3. 

Fast forward to today, Ginton has developed a distinct, genre and cultural-blending sound that connects with listeners across the globe. His collaboration with Stonebwoy, “JEJEREJE”, went viral with over 300 million views on TikTok and secured the #1 spot on Shazam’s Global ‘Worldwide’ Chart. Continuing his rise, Ginton teamed up with two of his biggest musical inspirations, and African music legends for a reimagining of “Kalabancoro”: GRAMMY winner Richard Bona and four-time GRAMMY nominee Salif Keita.

To propel his artistic vision, he founded his label imprint, Woody Trees, a platform dedicated to exploring sounds that blur the lines between electronic and acoustic music. Since inception, the label has become a driving force in Ginton’s career, housing high-profile collaborations with industry leaders like MoBlack, Francis Mercier, Maz, and Antdot, as well as Afro Pop stars Tekno and Mr. Eazi.
