Take Off is a collection of unfinished demos written, produced, and recorded across Los Angeles, New York, Columbus, Paris, and Mexico City by Alyssa Deering. The songs, most of which are unfinished, provide a glimpse into the life and mind of the artist as she traveled solo through one of the most uncertain periods of her life. These demos reflect the raw and unedited nature of her year abroad, often moving from place to place. These works offer up glimpses of the vulnerability of not knowing what comes next through airy vocals, anxious chord progressions, and tension and release through melody.
