What You See Is Not All There Is

You have too much time to think

An improvisation recorded on the evening of the 9th of September 2012 in my apartment in the centre of Preston, UK. The first that I decided to put on line since I plan to upload one improvisation per month. These will be all one take recordings and therefore will contain mistakes here and there (as long as you can talk about mistakes in an improvisation).

September improvisation

A piano improvisation recorded on a Saturday morning of end September 2012, the product of a quite early wake up and a mild hang-over. Some additional notes: Yes, it is a bit like a crime movie soundtrack in some parts; Yes, some chord sequences are the same as in "The Wall"; Yes, eventually I will collect all the tracks and release an album called "Facebook vanity" or "The Prestonian songs of an emigrant Italian astronomer" or similar...  

October improvisation

I tried different melodies during the last weeks but nothing really convinced me. This is something that came out some days ago. There are some good moments here and there but essentially is a big mess. However, maybe you need  to go through a big mess before you get somewhere good. Soooo profound... oh yeah

November improvisation

I am keeping trying to find a "style" and it is a bit like doing research. You do lots of "trial and error", hoping to find something good at the end. When things become too messy, it is probably better to go back to the basic things and work on them once again to understand what it is wrong there first. The beginning of this improvisation is a little bit like this: erasing everything and start over again. A basic chord sequence to start and there we go. 

December Improvisation

This time I wanted to record something different. Not an improvisation as I did until now, but a "real" piece of music. This is what I got.. It is about the people that inspire me recently. Everyone with his own unstable unconventional life style. Everyone with his own view of reality. Everyone with his own dream. Enjoy! 

Bohemian Dreams

Sometimes you meet someone. You realize you have something in common, you decide to share some moments together. Then, maybe, one day, something happens and your paths gradually become separated more and more. You lose one another. However, at that point, the people we lose begin having a completely independent life in our minds. That´s the way we keep the connection. We do not need Facebook to be connected to each other. Our minds are much better in doing it.
