Giorgia Hannoush was born in Carpi (Italy) March 17, 1987. She began playing guitar at age 12,
and at that young age joined the GOE (Giovane Orchestra Elettroacustica). She studied guitar for 4
years with Roberto Andreoli. In 2003 she began attending the Academy of Music in Modena
(A.I.A.C) where she studied guitar and harmony with Giuseppe La Monica. In April 2006, through
the World Scholarship Audition in Dublin, she obtained a scholarship to the famous Berklee College
of Music in Boston. She has taken seminars with well-known artists Scott Henderson, Gianluigi
Trovesi, Ben Monder, Tony Moreno, Phil Minton, and Simone Massaron. In July 2012 she attended
the La Spezia Jazz Masterclass where she studied with Lage Lund, David Kikoski, Eddie Gomez
and David Liebman.She holds a degree in Jazz from the “Conservatorio Statale F. Venezze” of
Rovigo (Master's Degree), where she studied with Marco Tamburini and Sandro Gibellini. She was
a member of Flight of Fancy, an all-women band. In 2008 she took part in the national competition
for women composers “Note di Donna” (Women's Notes) at Piacenza Jazz Fest, winning the
People's Choice Award for her piece “Summer night in Madrid”. In May 2008 she took part in the
“Giovane in Jazz” (Youth in Jazz) competition in Genoa, winning second prize.
In March 2012 her compositions were performed in Cuba at the "Feria del libro en Granma”. Since
2008 she has been performing in festivals and clubs in Italy and abroad. In the area of Pop music,
she played acoustic and classical guitar with Massimo Ranieri during the "Canto Perchè non so
nuotare” tour of Sicily, November 2010.
