For the next episode of our series we’ve invited the Russian artist Mary Yuzovskaya who is currently residing in Berlin. Mary has been cultivating her approach to electronic music for over 13 years already, and in that time she has proven herself to be a worthy vinyl-only DJ and producer. Since the year 2017 she is also running her own label Monday Off where she curates and presses work from artists that explore the trippier, more hypnotic side of Techno. 

For her contribution to SALON she recorded a vinyl-only mix and shared with us what drives her as an artist:

‘The most exciting thing about DJing, producing and running a label is a unique opportunity to create and shape your own world and let others experience it. In my sets I share some of the records that bring me joy and make me feel things in this particular time frame. If these tracks resonate with the listener I find my mission accomplished.'

Lucy is back on CLR with another one of his mind-bending, deep and hypnotic Techno productions. Those who have already appreciated his unique approach to modern Techno in previous tracks will surely like the “201 Phasing“ EP by the Berlin based, Italian DJ/producer. It contains Lucy´s slow burning original version, an excellent remix by Dadub and a skillfully crafted edit by Chris Liebing.

Are We All Alone or Just Overwhelmed?

Blazej Malinowski joins forces with Neel, Claudio PRC, Milena Glowacka and Svreca for a collaborative EP via his own Inner Tension imprint this May.

Over the past decade, Poland-born now Berlin-based producer, DJ Blazej Malinowski has been deliver his twist on Techno via imprint such as Semantica, Kvalia, TGP, 012 and of course his own Inner Tension label where he returns here with a new collaborative EP. The idea behind the record was to merge Blazej with artists he has close connections to and create music that would capture the moment in time at which it was made, based on pure emotion and without limitation. The resultant ‘Are We All Alone or Just Overwhelmed?’ EP is testament to Blazej’s inherent connection to Techno.

Up first on the package is ‘Time Is Relative’, a collaboration with Italian DJ, producer and engineer Neel which meanders through an amalgamation of intricately intertwined synth leads, robust percussion, and a grinding low- end drive. ‘Riddle’ with Claudio PRC follows and wanders into deeper territories via ethereal, billowing textures, metallic chimes and resonant synth flutters floating atop a circling bass groove and crisp drums.

On the flip-side Milena Glowacka joins Blazej for ‘Equal’, a subtly unfurling composition laid out across seven minutes with bubbling tones, dynamic percussive elements and a pulsating low-end. ‘Coincidence’, composed with Svreca then rounds out the release, a murky journey through haunting atmospherics, bumpy off-kilter drums, and eerie percussive fills.

Following up on their highly acclaimed debut release from 2020, raster presents Il Quadro di Troisi's »Remixes« album, an eclectic collection of reinterpretations of eight of the group's tracks.
By inviting fellow label artists as well as friends and long-term collaborators to contribute to this, »Remixes« shows a broad spectrum of diversity, ranging from colorful, loop-based renditions by Toulouse Low Trax and Tropicantesimo, to (Italo) disco-inspired versions by Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi and Chloé, to more rhythmical and functional tracks by AtomTM, Dasha Rush and Front de Cadeaux. The album also includes a dub-infused reinterpretation of »Il giudizio« by the artists themselves.

null respekt - is a techno DJ/producer based in Poznań. Music has been accompanying him since he remembers. His style can be described as a diverse mix of techno, where various selection and unconventional mix play the key role. In his sets you will find a combination of raw techno with tribal, groove and hypnotic sounds layered with sci-fi sequences and stron textures. As a result, he takes listeners on a crazy journey during which he moves between broken beat, techno and hypnosis, defining his characteristic sound.

After a deep exploration of several kinds of electronic dance music, in a broad evolutionary path, Giorgio Gigli’s music has assumed an intense and personal form of communication.
The modules emerging from his compositions run across a process where moods are transformed into waves, layers and substrates that are ready to catch and overwhelm the listener without changing original content.

His skill is to transmit an accurate signal using undiscovered frequencies inspired by desolate and noir tinged landscapes. Giorgio transforms his material. Voids, pitfalls, drones and dilated melodies become intricate, sophisticated, and hypnotic rhythmic equipment that runs the risk of constantly changing classicist techno aesthetics in a conceptual derivation close to his soul.

Giorgio loves ambient music that dues to its descriptive power allows him to analyze and render every vibration and vision, both during production and his long dj sets, where he explores empty rooms that are filled with vintage recordings, ethereal drones and field sonority. This particular working method is also reflected in his harder sets, where rhythm increases tension while it is moving forward unchallenged through industrial echoes, robotic tricks and building grooves that produce shaped variations of his meaning. Substance thickens to provide a thoughtful and reflexive listening experience.

All these elements are poured into his project “Zooloft Records”, the platform that represent him in a past few years. Now his techno vision involved into new collaborative projects with Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe and Perc (“Endless” project). Starting from 2011 the collaboration with Electric Deluxe has established an intense relationship ferrying his DJ set in a new dimension where it combines an industrial/dark approach with a solid stream techno club-oriented
