Piante Vive is a collaborative project that came to life in late 2023, the result of two friends and producers who began making electronic music together, heavily influenced by Milan’s techno scene and their contrasting yet complementary backgrounds.

On one side, @Biocym brings a foundation in deep techno, characterized by hypnotic grooves and rhythmic depth. On the other, Succo hails from the Italian trap and hip-hop scene, focusing on melodic structures and atmospheric, ambient elements. This blend of influences led them to produce tracks that pull from various musical genres, creating a rich and layered sound.

Piante Vive represents the fusion of both artists’ distinct artistic sensibilities while allowing them to dive deeper into their shared musical expression. Their sound, reflected in this nearly two-hour recording, showcases organic, deep, and profound techno that encapsulates their evolving vision and collaboration.

Spira Invites - Piante Vive

Okokon returns to Other People with his sophomore album, 'Offering', delving deeper into the lush and cinematic soundscapes he first explored on his debut album, 'Turkson Side'. While primarily working in visual arts, Africanus Okokon, who records under his surname, bridges his artistic practices in 'Offering', using his masterful collage techniques to create his most personal work yet. Defying easy categorization, the album melds influences from dream pop, avant-garde folk, psychedelia, trip hop, and dub, with traces of field recordings seamlessly blended throughout to form a cohesive whole.

'Offering' sees Okokon confronting and negotiating a sudden and unexplained death that occurred in his childhood and the complex emotions left in its aftermath, acting as his main inspiration when making the album. This ambiguity is something that permeates throughout, with Okokon wanting to explore the ambivalence and sometimes uneasiness of contradicting emotions appearing simultaneously, alluded to in the album title. This is also reflected in how the album tracks each inhabit different narrators with varying perspectives on the same events. The result being a hauntingly beautiful album, with recurring themes of death, growth, sacrifice and spirituality ever present.

My Sunday morning involves strong black coffee on an empty stomach, followed by one massive pancake to share. Both energizing and grounding. Ideally I try to set a different tone than other mornings; less of a grind, more human.
I tried to let this mix convey this feeling, and hopefully use it myself to be in the morning and not work so hard; The music is more emotionally layered and pulls me a bit more into different directions than what I'd listen to when starting work.
