Our pup Teddy was fourteen years old.
He wasn’t loud or demanding — he was gentle, steady, and deeply present. He didn’t care for things or noise or attention. What he wanted most was closeness. A warm spot in the sun. A quiet campfire. A car ride. A place near our feet or pressed into our side.

He carried a big heart in a small body — loyal, soft, and calm. He had a way of grounding us when the world felt heavy, as if his purpose was simply to stay close and remind us we weren’t alone. Through hard seasons and quiet days, Teddy was home.

He loved the outdoors, Yosemite nights, sneaking into Camp 4, sleeping under open skies, and chasing warmth wherever it landed. He aged with grace, never losing his sweetness, never losing his trust.

When it was time to let him go, we chose love over fear — peace over pain. This song is for the boy who stayed, who taught us devotion without words, and whose love still echoes with us everywhere we go.
