Tutti i suoni provengono da registrazioni effettuate presso il Conservatorio Licinio Refice di Frosinone. I Frammenti sono ricavati da improvvisazioni e da opere di  Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bach e molti altri.

“Sono entrato nelle classi e ho chiesto di poter registrare alcuni minuti di esercizi e prove di brani di repertorio. Ho incontrato le situazioni più diverse: studenti che studiavano da soli, prove del coro, un violinista che improvvisava al piano, le prove di un duo mandolino e pianoforte, un grande gruppo di ottoni che si esercitava all’aperto, l’accordatore che lavorava, un’orchestra che provava un concerto per flauto di Mozart e molto altro. Ho così ricavato frammenti di repertorio molto vari: la parte di viola da un concerto per violino di Mozart, la parte del flauto da un concerto per flauto di Mozart, un brano jazz per trio di percussioni, la parte del primo violino di un concerto di Tchaikovsky, brani di Bach per organo, un arrangiamento per ottoni della canzone Mr. Sandman e tanti altri. In alcuni casi ho chiesto agli strumentisti di eseguire dei singoli gesti o delle brevi improvvisazioni indicando alcuni gesti e figure musicali realizzati con tecniche non classiche come i multifonici del clarinetto o i suoni saturi degli archi o alcuni cluster eseguiti dall’orchestra. Oltre a molto materiale musicale ho registrato i suoni concreti della realtà quotidiana del conservatorio: il brusio del bar, le chiacchere del personale, degli studenti e professori e sono andato alla ricerca di suoni e rumori che mi sembravano interessanti più o meno nascosti, come per esempio la pioggia che sbatte sulle lamiere al secondo piano, il riverbero della porta che sbatte nella tromba delle scale, alcuni cigolii di porte e maniglie o anche suoni ottenuti percuotendo o strusciando vari oggetti come armadietti di metallo, banchi, muri. Il risultato sono circa 80 situazioni sonore diverse per un totale di circa 160 minuti da cui ho ricavato il materiale che compone i momenti musicali di Plunderschool” Giovanni Piccardi

All sounds come from recordings made at the Licinio Refice Conservatory of Frosinone. Instrumental fragments are taken from improvisations and from works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bach and many others.

"I joined the classes and asked to be able to record a few minutes of exercises and rehearsal pieces. I met the most diverse situations: students who were studying alone, choir rehearsals, a violinist who improvised on the piano, the rehearsals of a mandolin and piano duo, a large group of brass players practicing outdoors, the tuner who worked , an orchestra rehearsing a Mozart flute concert and much more. I have thus obtained very varied repertoire fragments: the viola part from a Mozart violin concerto, the flute part from a Mozart flute concert, a jazz piece for percussion trio, the first violin part of a concert by Tchaikovsky, pieces by Bach for organ, a brass arrangement for the song Mr. Sandman and many others. In some cases I asked the students to perform single gestures or short improvisations made with non-classical techniques such as the clarinet multifonics or the saturated sounds of the strings or some clusters performed by the orchestra. In addition to a lot of musical material, I recorded the concrete sounds of the daily reality of the conservatory: the buzz of the bar, the chatter of staff, students and professors and I went in search of sounds and noises that seemed interesting to me more or less hidden, as for example the rain that slams on the sheets on the second floor, the reverberation of the door slamming into the stairwell, some squeaks of doors and handles or even sounds obtained by striking or rubbing various objects such as metal cabinets, benches, walls. The result is about 80 different sound situations for a total of about 160 minutes from which I obtained the material that composes the musical moments of Plunderschool" Giovanni Piccardi
