He's back! If you haven't heard, Alter/Ego BONES will be receiving an update soon, and a lot of progress has already been made! I've wanted to update BONES for quite some time, but with all the most current voice changing tools and new ways to upgrade old, outdated audio, it felt like the perfect time! The developer of Alter/Ego LEORA, Infoholic, and I have been rebuilding BONES from the ground up using ONLY his original samples and other voice modifying software (RVC, etc.)

Here's some technical information for those curious. 
- BONES-C uses the original recordings as a base, and expands upon them with modern technology.
- Instead of 2 voice libraries, "en" and "jp", BONES-C will be consolidated into a single voice library.
- BONES-C will include a "Soft" slider, which you can hear being used in this sample.
- BONES-C is currently in an alpha stage, meaning the voice db and visuals are subject to change!
- BONES-C is going to be completely reconfigured by Infoholic and I to better utilize the Formant Singer 2 engine via Alter/Ego to provide the best quality results on the engine, while not taking up too much RAM in usage. Currently, the total DB size is roughly 250MB, which is slightly more than BONES' original English DB, but about half the size of other Alter/Ego voice libraries like Marie Ork Clean.

This project is going to be somewhat narrative driven, below is a quick synopsis of the backstory to BONES' return!

BONES -CONSTRUCT-, or BONES-C for short, is a wandering witch-doctor who travels in the wastelands of a desolate and barren futuristic wasteland. He hopes to help society rebuild itself and yearns to find the answers about who he really is.

I've been given the opportunity to test mr. Voder and lemme tell ya, he's really cool. For those who don't know, the Voder was the first (i think) vocal synthesizer and it was controlled by these ladies who were trained in the art of controlling him. If you've ever seen the Vocaloid Keyboard, it's like a 100x more complicated even more manual version of that, lol. Please enjoy the boy! I wonder back in 1939 if the people who created him even dreamed that he'd be back as something like this!!! Crazy right?

sorry I didn't use an English VB to sing this song, but I think using a talking synth counts towards quirky weird synth

i've always had such an interest in making voiceroids sing, and I was thinking about galaco and was like..... i'm gonna make galaco talk sing this.

I've had this cover done with Yukari Voiceroid2 for a while, but I just didn't like how it sounded, so I tried it with Galaco and she fit much better! I also edited the vocals much more than what comes right from G-Talk. This is really fun and I'm gonna try to do this stuff more cuz it's actually super fun to me!

also, if you're curious, I used a program called "KotonoSync" to make this. It basically takes a VSQx and converts it to VOICEROID (Galaco talk isn't technically voiceroid, but it uses the same engine so it works.) 

I then used "KotonoTone" to smooth out the long notes that have weird looping sounds, and then melodyne and some fl plugins to tune the vocals a bit!
