This week we chat to Anita Makalima who is an Information Security Professional. Her goal in the IT space is to not only develop herself but to extend her skills and knowledge to young girls who will shape the future of tech and innovation.

Clara is a Backend Software Engineer at Over (recently acquired by GoDaddy) and works remotely from Pretoria. She spends most of her days building  APIs (Golang, swoosh of Kotlin, some DevOps) to make Over for Web (https://www.madewithover.com/)

GirlCode Cast | Mentorship with Clara Van Staden

Charis is a Data Scientist at Synthesis Software Technologies where she works on projects that require the analysis of data with the aim of gaining new insights to support increased innovation within an organisation. She has a PHD in Computational and Applied Mathematics, with over eleven years of lecturing at the University of the Witwatersrand, experience at the University of Oxford and Texas A&M University and over 30 published articles. Her research focused on data analysis and analytical and computational methods of solution and earned her numerous awards and grants, including the J. William Fulbright Foreign Visitor Research Scholarship, the Friedel Sellchop Award and the Carnegie Sandwich Research Grant.

GirlCode | Being a Data Scientist with Dr Charis Harley

Archana Arakkal is a Machine Learning Engineer at Synthesis. She joined Synthesis in June 2018, bringing with her four years of experience in product engineering, cloud research and development and product implementation. Her current focus is on artificial intelligence (AI), AI education and responsibly getting AI systems into production. She is recognized for her AI expertise. She holds a Masters in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and she holds numerous certificates, including in Big Data and AWS.
