Child of the World

Child of the World! Why so blue?
I overheard you were born a goon
Into the slum, sickly and bruised
Like a diamond in roughing and ruins
On wolves street—rugged and grued.

Son of the soil! Why looking brute?
In depth of your eyes—violet hues
Like violent tides in offing’s view
In scattered debris of forgotten news
Your colours now red and indigo blue.

Here I am, Lord! Uncore
From your love and scourge
Unclad in faith and unshod,
Unpurged of guilts and guts,
Winnowed underworld.
Braced; made tough of God,
Not of this rippled World.
Against the age, I forge...
That man had sold me off
Parental cord and touch.
Trials, errors and the judged
In absentia with a grudge...
Was I at fault, hence my cross?
Like a Church Rat and the Bible,
The Child Army labelled a rebel
I refuse to quit this alter of Babel.

Child of the World! Why so blue?
Slick within lips—your tongue is too
Right at this affront—a reflected you
Deep bow in the low; a deflected muse
Wraths of war from forefathers queue.

Son of the spoil! Why looking doom?
A run against the sun—skipping school
Roaming Rome in a cage—action cued
Survival of the fittest; you moot a coup
Child of the spoil! Why without a clue?

Here I am, Lord! Uncore
