Sounds of Ostrom - ABAT #13 - The founder of one of our favourite underground labels - Eclypse. Our friend, family and a huge support to the Ostrom team since day one. We give a warm welcome to Abat and his devilish  podcast - that sounds like it could be straight outta hell. In his own words Abat introduces himself to you. I've been an avid fan of extreme music genres ever since I was 12, and my journey still continues to this day. Techno is another chapter in my life that I have embraced as it currently represents me the most.I love listening to Black and Death Metal such as Emperor, Anaal Nathrakh, Nile, MGLA, Aosoth, Batushka, Immortal, Death and many many more. Besides this music genre, I've been into hip-hop and stil am (I have Kanye West's name tatted on my neck for those that did not understand what the "YE" means.) Other avant-garde/industrial/experimental/jazz/trip hip-hop acts that I really enjoy are Clouddead, Death Grips, MF Doom, Dalek, Portishead, IC3PEAK, Syringe/Sybyr, Nujabes, etc.In terms of electronic music, besides Techno I really like NOISE (the Japanese style such as Merzbow), Dark Ambient, Horrorcore, Synthwave, City Pop, Dream Pop, Gabber, Acid, Psy Trance and the list continues.For Bochka/Industrial - the artists and projects that inspire me the most are Embalmer, MenaceAnnihilation, Draag, MMCCCXCIX, UH, Dietrich, Parapher, CEKTA. In terms of projects, I can't express into words how much I appreciate the work of NYPRA, 96NOISIA, SUNTHOID, MOSARV, SURAM FORTRESS, 565R, EKIP, DOLIUM, BARRIKADEBOCHKA, OSTROM, OVERDOSE, SANKTUM.LAUT, CHALLENGINGSTATUSQUO, VIXLATIXN, OBST, URAL HARD KICKS and much much more. The local scene in Romania is close to non existent in terms of Industrial or even Bochka, but I'm trying my best to put our small little country on the map with the help of a couple talented people here that trust and believe in my vision. One of my biggest dreams is that I can put our small little country on the map of Industrial Techno one day, and people will recognize us more for the work that we are doing here. ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Markwøn is a Macedonian hard maker, resident of heavy hitter crew Eclypse. His sets and productions represent a story of the rawest industrial sounds, combined with hypnotic lines and noisy ambients.

Having being brought up in a concrete jungle such as Skopje, Macedonia, Markwøn fuses the melancholic feeling of brutalism with his hardcore music influences in his adolescence, finding his dome in industrial techno and bochka later in his music journey as a producer and dj, becoming a force to be reckoned with.

ARTIST SET OVERVIEW:

This set is my second hybrid recording ever. While I do practice quite regularly, this was yet another minor dip in the pool. The tracks used are selected to fit a certain progression that showcases how hypnotic the faster end of industrial techno can be, while showing certain elements that associate with intense feelings of uncertainty, darkness and coldness, along with that mental/paranoid touch. The progression is carried by one kick that I believe fits well into the emotions that the tracks are portraying, creating an hour-long journey through my psyche and my persona.
