When a deservedly hyped label like No.19 Music states that its biggest release is about to drop then a certain amount of attention is due and that’s exactly what the label’s 19th release, Tanner Ross’ ‘bSide EP’, deserves.

Despite having clocked up an impeccable discography that takes in collaborations with Soul Clap, Claude Vonstroke as well as output for Freerange, Mothership, Culprit and K7! this is Ross’ first solo release under his given name and is causing a enormous buzz via consistent plays from Art Department, Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap, Crosstown Rebels main-man Damian Lazarus and more.

Adding to the two stunning originals, ‘bSide’ and ‘For You ft. Flo Night’, and pushing things into unmissable territory is a brilliant remix of the latter from Crosstown Rebels / Wolf & Lamb family member, Deniz Kurtel.

‘bSide’ itself is a mid-tempo, lazy groove which gently opens out with warm delayed vocals and creeping drums - hypnotic and subtle, it’s one hell of an intro but the drop into the fat, sumptuous bass hook is pure joy. Steadily joined by soaring, high-end keyboard licks that balance the track beautifully, there’s a sudden realisation the title of ‘bSide’ is a in-joke that’s being shared.

‘For You ft. Flo Night’ continues proceedings with a sexy, blissed out pace. Thudding, raw and mechanical disco drums underpin yet another rich, dominant Moog bass that oozes P, G and just about every other funk there is. Floating soundscapes, gloriously sliding top lines and Flo Night’s effected vox ebb and flow like liquid while a beat-perfect arrangement allows every element to truly sing which makes for a timeless slice of music.

Rounding things off is the prodigious talent that is Deniz Kurtel with her version of ‘For You ft. Flo Night’. Building from skittering percussive hits, dubbed-out vocals and spacious ambience into an incredibly catchy bassline, it’s a remix that unravels and combines melodies so impressively it begs repeated listens.

With a full length for Wolf & Lamb in progress plus collaborations with Deniz Kurtel and Soul Clap on the way, this is an essential piece of listening and one that celebrates a contemporary star….

Sophisticated minimalism was always a core feat of ALEX UNDER's portfolio, with the Spanish producer also serving as the founder and label manager for much-acclaimed techno label CMYK Musik. After releases on iconic imprints such as Trapez, Soma or Plus 8, the Madrilenian - one of the most sought-after electronic artists in Spain - now presents OLAS DE QUILA QUINA, his very first outing for Kompakt. Three slick, enticing cuts show him comitted to rolling basslines, rising synths and snappy percussion, all embedded in the futuristic sound design Alex has been honing over the course of his career. Unfolding to the backdrop of brooding metallic drones, the title track only needs a handful of carefully processed sounds to tell a highly evocative story - a focussed, geometrical jam that nonetheless allows for freewheeling outbursts of creativity. Adam Nathan is a London-born, Toronto-raised DJ and producer quickly making a name for himself on the global deep house scene. Previously collaborating under various monikers and part of Toronto’s influential Release Records crew, Adam is now unveiling potent solo tracks under his name. This new EP for Viva Recordings, titled Soulmachine, has the well-honed sound of a studio veteran, with a smooth, warm sound and emotive passages. Adam’s roots as a drummer come through with the stripped down emphasis on rhythm, while melodic flourishes and dynamic builds play masterfully on top. 

The EP opens with ”Soulmachine”, featuring dramatic piano chords and a fine, pulsating kick drum. The cut builds in a mesmerizing fashion, ending in a beautifully atmospheric breakdown. “Us and Them” gets into even deeper territory, full of synth pad transmissions, shimmering sonics, and the stirring, echoing speech that enters near the halfway point. “Coda”, directly inspired by the legendary nightclub of the same name, closes things out with a classic feel. Drawing upon the deepest influences of ‘90s house music, “Coda” is dreamy, multilayered treat for the latest of nights and the most intimate of dance floors.

The mysterious Enduro Disco returns to Exploited for another two-track excursion, filled with subtle majesty and interesting touches.
The title track is a quirky groove that displays all the unusual character commonly found in an Enduro Disco track. A wiggling groove is built through filtered stab delays, high-pitched vocal snippets and shakers. Disco string fills signal a shift in mood as languid live bass slides drop in along with dreamy, pleasingly chorused vocal harmonies that have a hint of classic samba to them. The mysterious melodic feel is punctured by a stripped-down section filled with squelchy synths and a tight rhythm as the track reaches its culmination.
‘Try A Little Harder’ rocks a spacey disco groove where descending, detuned bass notes tumble over delayed string hits and hypnotic motifs. A euphoric chord progression is teased in the brooding breakdown before filtering back down. Gorgeous female vocals drift in and out as the electro-house flavoured lead synth bashes out a groove. Pulsing pads provide a melodic counterbalance, as does a cute FM-style arpeggio. As ever from this talented producer, it’s a masterclass in graceful arrangement and compelling matching of textures.

Here's the second bootleg from our 90s mix. Everything you hear in this one is from 1996. This may or may not be the final mashup we ever do, so lets all turn a blind eye just this one last time. To all you brow-raisers, keep that bushy little caterpillar above your right eyeball nice and low. In the spirit of the 90s (and even in the spirit of some classic Soulwax), here's another bootleg to add some nostalgia to your next hip hop soiree.

We weren't very old in '96, but we were certainly listening to to enough music to know what we enjoyed. Even to this day, Jamiroquai remains and inspiration to our productions. Look no further than Foreign Language to catch a few glimpses of Cosmic Girl. The 90s mix was inevitably going to be hip hop, but we wanted to somehow sneak in a few other songs that were instrumental to shaping the decade and our tastes. It worked out as one of the most fortunate coincidences that Hypnotize and Virtual Insanity were in key together. And we know how naff it can be to throw a Biggy acapella over anything, but in tribute to that particular year (and even decade), we had to pay respect to one of the best in the game.

As a fun side note, the drums are taken from The Fugees - Killing Me Softly (also from 1996). This bootleg is so jam-packed with 1996'ness, it's one Slap-band away from turning into a Troll Doll.

Doctor Jekyll and mr Hyde,a mix between an eclctic dj/producer and a party animal. This is Giuseppe Cennamo, born in Naples in 1980; he formed his musical roots, first playing a piano when he was a child, and later on spinning his records at teenagers parties. After taking some time off to dedicate to his studies,he started again to play to city parties. During this time, on 2004, he met Danilo Vigorito who introduced him to serious productions. From December 2004 to September 2008 Giuseppe has been constantly working in studio; his first record out VIR 2,2 happened to be released on February 2009 on Minisketch, Davide Squillace's label. The major following up Ep were: Mujeres (Leftroom), Borderline (Kammer) and El Gitano (Moniquè Speciale) played all over the world by top djs such as Loco Dice, Marco Carola , Luciano and Carl Cox; El Gitano was Giuseppe Cennamo’s first breakthrough, bringing him great success and popularity in club scene.On November 2010 Giuseppe signed two tracks in a VA on 8bit, label of his friend Nick Curly. On January 2010 Giuseppe founded his personal record label Carillon;the first release on Carillon Records was Break my Carillon, vynil sold out just in two weeks. After the first release few international artists became part of his project like Matteo Spedicati, Aldo Cadiz, Mendo, Alex Celler, Alessio Mereu, Larsson and Salvatore Freda. Actually the label is on fire with a lot's of forthcoming releases.On July 2010 Giuseppe sent some tracks to Desolat Records and after one month they took Giuseppe in the Desolat family, and his first release, Amanecer ep, was published on Desolat x 009. In the beginning of 2011 Cennamo released a lot's of remixes and another ep on Carillon, Human Feelings.
At the end of 2011 he released a follow-up: A Single in the Jungle ep on 8bit! Giuseppe had a great year on 2011 playing all around and making new music, so he decided to close this amazing time with a special release on his Carillon, so in dicember 2011 came out Imprints in my Mind, the track that all the clubbers and the djs want, played by Loco Dice at the Amnesia Closing 2010...out on Carillon Records as Limited serie.
The 2012 is again in his name, he released the second Desolat, Dance Till Tomorrow, a great Ep with four tracks of different styles! So the Napolitan Talent is on fire, like is career, but if you don't see Giuseppe in the dj booth for sure you can catch him on the dancefloor, mr Hyde.
