Dominated by a dark futuristic 80s influence, the GIVERNY portfolio features ambient futuristic pads, badly programmed drums and ugly guitars soaked in reverb.

Rituals plays back to the core of just that with the intention of writing Dark Pop, Phillip Spiteri (GIVERNY) describes this track as "An ugliness I was only able to capture in my bedroom studio".

"Rituals is about a time in my life that I felt I was living inside a commercial. It felt like the ads on TV were participating in small rituals and only I could see through them. The best way I made it stop was by turning the TV off. I did discover that the people around me were the only real thing I had and to all of those who've supported me along the way, I thank you so much!

I wrote this song to let others know that if they feel the same they are not going crazy."

Ambient instrumental track that I never really planned to release but quickly became one my favourite tracks that I'd written. 

At the time I was struggling with anxiety and would put it on when I felt tense and hope it can bring anyone listening some ease as well.

Sydney solo act GIVERNY creates a unique sound drawing on New Wave, Grunge and Dance.

The creative sounds of GIVERNY are the inspiration of producer Phillip Spiteri, who is also the act’s sole singer, songwriter and instrumentalist.

In 2016, GIVERNY released their first EP, ‘Liabilities’ – comprising three songs written in a bedroom, mixed by renowned audio engineer Antonia Gauci and mastered at Studios 301 in Sydney.

In 2017 GIVERNY continues to write and collaborate with late 90s hardware-based producer DAMC, performing as techno DJ, David McCann.

In mid 2017 GIVERNY debuted their live show supporting Oliver Tanks and BATTS and will continue to play more shows around Australia throughout 2017.
