With his stripped-down emotional love for music and kind soul, Leipzig-bound beatsmith and all round top geezer Luvless has been steadily cementing his reputation as one of contemporary house music’s finest.
Luvless is known for his work with Rose Records – a label he started with four other friends back in 2011 – and a smattering of appearances on several other labels, slamming down dusty disco edits as well as athomspheric house belters. Since 2017 he’s been focussing on his new project Velours Records, a vinyl outlet for different avenues of the Luvless sound and guest appearances by friends.
His music has been described as sweet, gentle even, but banging at the same time. It sometimes pays homage to the old Kerry days with extra magic dust sprinkled on top. You could listen to his products on such labels as Razor-N-Tape, Super Tuff Records, suol, Slow Down Recordings, Lüüd Discs, Blaq Numbers and many more.

One of our favourite producers of 2022 steps up with an exclusive 64 minutes of almost entirely unreleased material. Parisian producer @tour-maubourg has released an remarkable body of work in the past couple of years that connects the dots between his city's deep house and nu jazz heritage (e.g. St-Germain, Wuz, Cassius) and the contemporary jazz scene, where sumptuous 4/4 grooves and broken beats are laced with sweet vintage and analog synth solos and motifs. We predict the biggest things for him and are very happy to have him contribute to our long-running series.

*How would you describe your sound?*

I’m trying to produce modern music, mainly house, jazz, and dub related with an old school and warm feel.

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?* 

If I had to name three main influences it would be Ron Trent and Chez Damier, for their vision and reflection on pushing forward the sound.

Basic channel for their exploration of texture and ambience. Their sound has a unique feel.

Nicolas Jaar for his abilities to touch the masses with non pop music. His ability to make complexity simpler so that anyone can understand his music.

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

I was very happy that it was only made out of my production. As I have tons of music I stick that will probably not be released, it’s a good way to take it out of my hard drive and give it a second life 🙏
