Gladio Operations' tenth release touches down with the third volume of the Split Machine Series, which bears the signatures of KafkaCtrl and UHF and marks the end of this electrifying trilogy.

Side A kicks off with "KafkaCtrl", where we discover cuts "Hashing Technic" and "XOR Calculator", which seem freshly extracted from a thriller, full of intriguing passages and wrapped in a delicate and assembled bassline. The French artist gifts us a last cut titled "Integer Corruption", where we distinguish a more rhythmic path impregnated with dark textures.

The owners of the UHF label resume their presence by taking charge of closing the EP with two powerful tracks. First off, "Floating Pimps" transports us to an absolute level of psychedelia, which we have already experienced in their past works, and a characteristic trademark of the Spanish duo. "The Threat Of Machines", which closes the EP, takes us into a state of extreme intensity, where UHF squeezes out a wild and incessant bassline from beginning to end.

In a world increasingly under the sway of algorithms and with the advent of AI, potentially signaling an epochal moment as important as the Industrial Revolution, Micron Audio releases the next in its series of forward-thinking electronic music: BOTS by Belgium’s 6SISS.

Much as early electro was driven by the twin influence of the rhythm of the factories of Detroit and a bold imagining of life beyond (or below) our world, BOTS takes its cues from the ideas and concepts surrounding our potential near-future such as Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. 

At times the music swirls with sounds that bring to mind nascent intelligence slowly working out its purpose, albeit an intelligence alien to that found in animals. 
In other moments the rhythm shudders and shakes like the microsecond “thoughts” of an AI slowed down infinitesimally, overlaid with speech manipulated into sounds completely unrecognizable yet strangely familiar, like listening in to a conversation between two programs.
Released on 12” record and, more fittingly, digital, BOTS returns electro to its roots in envisioning the future whilst freeing itself from the paradigm of the genre’s past to create a soundtrack of the AI world; a view beyond the algorithm.

Centrikal is a DJ, producer, organizer and all-around champion for electro music in Portland, Oregon. His past releases have appeared on Particle Music, SubSensory, Peloton Musique, and more.

Systematics is the follow-up to Centrikal’s fantastic 2024 SubSensory EP, Acid Party. On Systematics, he brings the heat once again with an acid-electro original built around futuristic beats and 303 squelches.

D.Vices and Justin Neal round out the EP with two quality remixes designed for the dancefloor. Justin Neal delivers an absolutely slamming hardgroove-style techno rework. And SubSensory founder Jack Coleman’s electro-breaks alias D.Vices presents a tasteful and deeply acid-laden rendition.
