Gwendolyn DeVoe is a former plus model turned fashion event producer who devotes her time to mentoring and developing young women interested in plus size modeling and owning small businesses.  In addition, in an effort to ensure that plus size fashion brands and its aficionados receive equal airtime and tasteful recognition in the fashion industry, Gwen has been instrumental in creating a number of opportunities for the plus size community.
 
In 1998, under the parent company DeVoe Signature Events, a boutique fashion production company founded by Gwen, she opened The Plus Academy, a resource and development program for aspiring plus models to learn about the industry and what it takes to be successful in their craft.  Originally based in New York City, the success of the program led to its quick expansion to 10 major cities across the United States.  
 
In addition, Gwen is also the Creator and Executive Producer of Full Figured Fashion Week®, an annual presentation of the fashion industry’s finest plus models, designers, retailers, boutiques and businesses with products and services for the plus community. The event, heralded as one of the industry’s most legitimate gateways for plus fashion and a “must attend’ for anyone involved in the industry, has received both local and international press coverage ranging from the front page of the New York Times to Forbe.com and everything in between.  Gwen and her team are currently working on the 2014 production of FFFWeek which will be held in NYC on June 16-21 and will be expanded to include additional runway events.
 
Named PLUS Model Magazine’s 2014 Woman of the Year, Gwen’s work, and all that it involves, does not end there.  She has executed a strong line-up of “signature” events, including Full Figured and Fabulous™, Dangerous Curves…the Tour™, the Ready to Runway Model Bootcamp and Project Curves™.  She is a highly sought after event host, industry content writer, motivational speaker and expert on the plus size fashion community.   She has written content for USA Today and has appeared as an expert on several radio and television shows including Fox 5’s Good Day New York, OMG Insider and Entertainment Tonight.
 
Nicknamed “The Mogul” by friends and colleagues, Gwen says, “I am pleased to have been able to turn my passion for the fashion industry into a business whose mission is to provide education, consultation and opportunities to those that seek to dispel the myths that are often associated with plus size women and the plus size fashion industry.”  
 
Gwen’s most recent list of projects includes the launch of Mogul Moments, an online talk show that will highlight the accomplishments of everyday women who are doing phenomenal work in their communities.
