Dennis Cruz continues his standout run-of-form in 2021 with the release of his latest single, What U Doing. Soon-to-appear on his forthcoming album, Roots, the single is a collaboration with UK singer-songwritwer Leo Wood and includes a remix by iconic German house producer Mousse T.

Two worlds come together in perfect harmony, as the five-minute number gets underway with shimmering bell chimes and Leo’s soothing vocal offerings. Dennis’ influence soon arrives, taking the form of a punchy, four-four bassline whilst echoing synths purr intermittently in the background. Mousse T´s 'Deep Shizzle' Extended Remix brings things to a feel-good close, with upbeat piano rolls residing atop euphoric chords to create a dancefloor cut that you can’t help but smile to.

Vienna’s Wolfram and London-based Josh Ludlow come together for a joint Defected debut with chugging club track ‘YoYo Disco’. Two decades in the business has led Wolfram Eckert to collaborations with several high calibre electronic artists including Moby, Hercules and Love Affair, Rex the Dog and Haddaway. The seasoned DJ and eccentric fashion icon has performed all over, from the heady clubs of New York to the discotheques of Europe, eventually crossing paths with London’s Josh Ludlow who also DJs as one half of Make A Dance. A shared interest in both fashion and dance music brought the pair together, culminating in this eccentric club cut. With a synthetically generated vocal line full of playful suggestion, ‘YoYo Disco’ is imbued with a vibrant, European energy perfect for the approaching club season.

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
