The first release of the year from Hot Trax comes from the German duo Raumakustik, with Jamie Jones on remix duty. Having had recent releases on a Grain Audio, Ipoly & Mangue Records, “Raider” is their debut on the Hot Creations subsidiary.

Raumakustik deliver a high energy and rhythmic track with ‘Raider’. The industrial tech-heavy sounds are perfectly mixed with catchy drums and a calling bell. Over on the B-side, Jamie Jones delivers a darker remix to drive music lovers to the dancefloor.

Sebastian and Volker are Raumakustik. They have been creating music together for a number of years and believe in creating tracks that will not only bring listeners to the dancefloor but also stay in their memory.

Jamie Jones launched Hot Trax in 2012 after wanting to create a label that moved away from the well-known and popular sounds of Hot Creations. It has been described as a label for the “headstrong” with previous releases coming from Patrick Topping and wAFF.

Every now and again an artist collaboration comes along that simply makes you stop and listen. The new single from Mark Knight, Green Velvet and Rene Amesz is one of those moments. 

At the end of 2016, Toolroom head honcho Mark Knight spent some time in the Rotterdam studio of fellow label favourite Rene Amesz, the result of which was a powerful electronic Tech House track that was begging for a vocal. There was only one man who could complete this monster collaboration and take the track to its full potential. 

Green Velvet has added his now trademark lyrical intelligence – talking of the worries and paranoia of a digital generation that is constantly monitored and surveyed by afar. Having been a memorable release from day one, we are truly proud to revisit the luscious single 'Our Story' by Markus Hakala, which has gets a jaw-dropping remix from UK based progressive all-star, Valiant.

Markus has and always will be a legend in his own regard, aptly titled by us at Emergent Music as the 'Melody Man', which anyone could easily agree on after cruising thru this his extensive catalog of melodic magic. So, as you can imagine, we were truly excited when another star-studded talent at Emergent wanted to remix this track, and who better than one of the UK's best rising talents to date, Valiant. Applying his go-getter attitude and can-do work flow, Valiant takes this already gorgeous production and applies his own unique twist on things, taking this emotive and heart-warming single to even greater heights, adding authentic beach and pierside elements that make this aptly titled mix one for the record books to say the least.

The first remix of this package brings back Slovak duo Mark & Lukas to the Synth family. There's a myth in the prog scene saying that every awesome track has a Mark & Lukas remix. We couldn't agree more, as they have churned another powerful production, one for the books.Prog wonder Musty, a scene favourite, is up next and his remix is warm as expected and putting an emphasis on the piano in the original's breakdown. Fire! Going the groovier path, Kamron Schrader delivers another knockout rendition, his remix having poise whilst being the most danceable but still true to sunset listening vibes. Rounding off this amazing release is our own Sodahl with his highly cinematic remix. Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
