“Around” might come as a surprise for many club-heads as Noir usually produces club tracks and is now moving into the “electronic songs” area.
However “Around” makes the perfect transition for Noir as it refletcs some of his trademark club-sounds mixed with the new melodic and more in-depth electronic sound. 

This is the 1st single taken from a full-length album coming in 2012 including some of the world's most talented singer/songwriters.
On “Around” Danish Noir teamed up with Malaysian Haze for this heartfelt piece of music. Haze might be best known for his work with people like Sandy Rivera, Nic Fanciulli and Danism and the singer/songwriter proves his talent for creating emotional and melancholic vocals. Been A Long Time (Mark Knight Remix)

Whilst electronic music as a community and an industry continues to adjust admirably to the Catch-22 nature of the internet, one camp that remains under duress is compilations. With major distributors now selling mixes, the majority of artists or labels regularly pushing out promo-packed free podcasts and ever more streaming options to watch DJs tear up booths and carve new niches all from the comfort of your hangover-recovery-room, the compilation finds itself at an increasingly crowded party. That's not to say there aren't exceptions to this rule with a number of outposts still seeing their releases able to separate themselves from the rest of the marauding pack.

One such series if undoubtedly Toolroom's 'Toolroom Live' series, in which the label bring together three of the scenes fastest rising artists and producers to showcase the full spectrum of the labels musical space. Taking the helm this time around, Amtrac, Mendo and Filterheadz join the party with each DJ serving up a groove based helping of danceable house numbers.

If you’ve at all sniffed around the Beatport charts at some stage in the last 12 months, then it’s highly likely that you’ll have been hugely impressed by a Berlin-based duo that go under the name ‘Mat.Joe’. With a string of releases and remixes in the last year on Snatch! Mother Recordings, Defected, Strictly Rhythm and of course Toolroom Trax, it’s an outright pleasure to have them return for their debut single release on the governing Toolroom Records this spring.

‘Nighthawk’ is an all-consuming tech house affair packed with deep grooves, guitar and synth licks and a dimly lit vocal performance, creating a delicately atmospheric personality within the track. Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
