We're bringing another debut to Danny Howard's Nothing Else Matters imprint this summer in the form of Bedford's rising DJ and producer, Sam Girling, who lands on the label with his brand new, 'Why Won't Your Heart' EP. Sam's music has featured on Radio 1's legendary Friday Night shows as supported by label boss Danny Howard and Annie Mac, as well as in clubs all around the world. Although a relative newcomer to the scene, Sam Girling's seen his music signed to an impressive back catalogue of labels including Gorgon City's REALM, Waze & Odyssey's Street Tracks, Solardo's Sola Nauts, Weapons, Subsoul and Astralwerks to name but a few. The 'Why Won't Your Heart' EP showcases Sam's distinctive Acid -inspired sound with elements of rave and House evident through the detailed arrangement and layered sonics throughout the two stellar productions. Infusing uplifting melodies, driving depths, acid synth patterns, crisp percussion, commanding basslines and hypnotic vocals, the 'Why Won't Your Heart' EP offers two unique cuts that are perfect both for the streaming market and the dancefloor alike. I love to play a massive variation of genres which you can hear in my mixes. Mainly House and Bass. 

In 2012 I managed to get into the final 5 for the Ibiza Rocks DJ Competition - which you can listen to on my Mixcloud page.

I regularly DJ at SUJU nightclub in Swindon and have warmed up the decks for Eats Everything, Dismantle, Duke Dumont and Friend Within. 

I also have a Friday night residency at Baker Street in Swindon where you can find me playing some old school classics along with new vibey sounds!

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
